Stray Kitten Approaches Dog Walker And Won't Stop Meowing Until She Takes Her Home

A stray kitten in an Orlando neighborhood was in desperate need of medical attention, so she approached the first person she saw: a dog walker.

The dog walker, who's named Kiara, couldn't believe the tiny cat was brave enough to approach her while she was walking an enormous dog, but the kitten showed no fear. It followed Kiara across the sidewalk, meowing loudly until she picked it up.

The kitten was filthy. Its matted fur was covered in oil, and it was infested with fleas. Kiara knocked on doors to see if anyone was missing a kitten, but she only confirmed what she already knew; the young cat had spent its entire life on the streets.

Kiara called her boyfriend and told him that they'd be welcoming a new furry family member into their home. She named the kitten Hope and went on an impromptu shopping spree at her local pet supply store. Hope may have had a rough start to life, but Kiara had every intention of spoiling her new friend.

Kiara and her boyfriend, Chris, fed the kitten and gave her a bath. The bathwater was a rusty brown color by the time they were through, but Hope was clean and fed for the first time in her young life.

Hope curled up in her new bed, and Kiara's heart melted when she saw the kitten's tiny paws knead her new bed while purring contentedly. The exhausted kitty was making herself at home.

Hope the Cat was lucky to find someone to take care of her, but she wasn't in the clear yet. A visit to the veterinarian revealed that Hope was severely dehydrated and underweight. Fortunately, Hope had Kiara and Chris to rely on.

It's been a few months since Hope found her forever home. It was only when she started gaining weight that Kiara realized Hope is no typical tabby; Hope is a Maine Coon cat.

Maine Coon cats are beautiful animals best known for their large body, long fur and the tufts of hair in their ears. Hope is thriving in her new home. She gets to go on road trips with her family, and she is always the center of attention. Hope enjoys perching on Kiara's shoulder during car rides. Her favorite pastime, however, is playing in Amazon boxes.
