Stray Dog Interrupts Live Street Performance To Comfort Actor Who Is Pretending To Be Injured

Canines have long been regarded as man's most loyal companion. All pet owners know that having a dog is one of the greatest experiences in life — from the way they show their unconditional love to how playful dogs can be, there is no better friend a person can have. It is likely that Millennials are choosing to have pets over kids for this reason; the relative joy of having a dog as well as the major decline in stress makes a dog an ideal companion. 

While more and more people are bringing pets home in the US and other parts of the world, not everyone can buy a dog. In many areas of the world, stray dogs can also become erstwhile friends to people. Sometimes, a stray shows that it has the same compassion and love for people as any pet. Though it may seem uncommon that a person could form a lasting bond with a stray dog, it can and does happen often in countries that have an abundance of such canines. 

One stray dog in Turkey displayed its love for humans in a most profound way, and after it was captured on video it went on to become highly viral across the world. While Numan Ertugrul Uzunsoy was performing with his acting troupe, a stray dog came over from the sidelines to comfort him as his character lay injured and distressed on the ground. This video from September 2020 shows the dog's sweet gesture and reignites our gratitude for a dog's unconditional love. 

As the crowd gathered around this group of professional actors on the street in Turkey, the stage was set for an exciting story complete with costumed actors and an enthusiastic narrator trumpeting the tale on a loudspeaker over the crowd.

Once the story took a turn, throwing Numan Uzunsoy's character from an imaginary horse, the actor took to the ground with the help of some of his castmates and began breathing heavily to sell the seriousness of his false injuries.

Though the onlookers more than understood that this was all an act, there was one member of the audience who couldn't bear to watch as Uzunsoy writhed on the ground in agony. Numan agreed to an interview with The Dodo and recalled his reaction to the encounter:

"The character I played was injured and in great pain," He told The Dodo. "He'd fallen off a horse, and was breathing hard. I felt warmth on my face. First, I thought my costar was approaching me."

Though some actors might be frustrated that someone interrupted such a compelling scene, Uzunsoy quickly broke character in a smile as he felt the sweet nudge and kisses from a particularly worried stray dog.

"I was very happy when I felt the dog's kisses," Uzunsoy said of the encounter. "I was very touched. He was like an angel who wanted to help me. It was a very emotional moment for me. I was not expecting it."

One might assume that the acting troupe would be frustrated, or at the very least, annoyed with this unscripted interruption, but everyone seemed to enjoy the dog's reaction to the scene.

The animal's brief role on this open-air stage earned the pup a round of applause and cheers of welcome from the crowd. Uzunsoy had this to say about the animal's entrance into the show: "My castmates loved the dog, and the audience was very happy, everyone cheered."

The cast allowed the animal to comfort Uzunsoy's character for a few moments, giving him loving pets of praise and appreciation for his affectionate interruption. Soon, the dog seemed to realize that all was well with the actor on the ground and was quickly scooped up and taken away by another cast member.

Ever since the performance, Numan Uzunsoy has scoured the same area, searching for the stray dog. "The next day, I went to the same place looking for him," he told The Dodo. "People told me he usually hangs out there. I went again today. I'll look for him until I find him. I've always loved animals."

With his strong love for animals and the unforgettable encounter he had with this sweet canine, there's surely only a matter of time before Uzunsoy reencounters his newfound furry-friend. In a world with an over-abundance of distressing news, it's refreshing to hear a story of compassion and concern for the well-being of others.
