Stray Cat Drags Friend To Shelter, Hoping It's Not Too Late To Save Her

Stray cats can have extremely difficult lives. Some will form friendships with one another to help each other through tough nights and days. These cat friends will often do whatever they can to help the other. They cuddle up together to stay warm, they help each other hunt, and they protect one another from predators. That is just how it can be on the streets for many wild cats.

A video has been making the rounds showing a stray cat desperately looking for help for her best friend. The video came out of Songbei, an area of northern China. In the beginning of the video, you can see one cat standing over the other one, who is lying on the street. Unfortunately, it looks as if the cat may already be deceased. But the one that is still very much alive is desperate to find help for the cat anyway.

She tries to revive her friend at first. When that doesn’t help, we see the video cut to another location. The healthy cat carries her friend by the scruff of her neck as she tries to drag her somewhere that will be safe.

It looks as though it is really difficult for the healthy cat, but she eventually manages to drag her sick friend will all of her strength. Later, she pulls the other cat under a parked car. She may be hoping that this is a safe place to rest and recuperate.

Many people believe that the other cat was already dead when the video was taken. This may or may not be true. There isn’t any information as to why the cat was injured in the first place. There is a chance that the injured animal was simply unconscious. If so, we hope that the injured cat woke up to see her best friend taking care of her. We can only hope and pray that this was the case.

Unfortunately, there is no more information on these two cats. The video does show that stray cats in China often lead hard, sad lives. As much as we hope that everything turned out okay for these two cats, we will just likely never know. Organizations like Animals Asia have been working in China to do the best they can for stray animals just like these cats.
