Stranded Kitten Saved By A Guy Who Swam Through Polluted River To Rescue It

Less than one week ago, a kitten fell into a deep canal in Bangkok, Thailand. A warm-hearted stranger came along and rescued the feline by swimming across the filthy waterway in a successful attempt to bring the cat to safety. It's unfortunate, but we brought it upon ourselves. Many of the world's rivers, lakes, and streams are excessively polluted due to littering, failing to use biodegradable products, and being socially responsible.

Just one week ago, on September 27, 2018, a Thai man living in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand - it's also one of the most polluted cities in Southeast Asia - came across a polluted canal. But not just any polluted canal... there was a tiny, cute kitten struggling to stay afloat in the ever-so-dirty water.

Believe it or not, the entire incident was caught on tape. The man shed his shirt and dove into the canal. He swam roughly 20 meters to the far side of the dirty, filthy, nasty waterway with a tool that resembles a bug and debris catcher people use to clean pools. I don't know what that tool is called - but if you watch the video, you've certainly seen one before! You have seen one before, right? Just making sure. The Thai man, as the video shows, isn't a very good swimmer. To help keep himself afloat, he floated across the canal on a styrofoam box to make sure he didn't get himself in trouble in that filthy waterway.

Using its claws, the cat was latched on to the concrete wall of the canal. Using the "pool tool," for lack of a better name, he lifted the kitten roughly five meters above his head to the porch where the kitten is believed to have fallen off of.

Social media indicates that 37-year-old Rimklong Sammakkhi filmed the event. If you're wondering why Rimklong didn't jump in, it's because saving the cat was a one-man job. I'm sure if the brave styrofoam-box-floating, feline-saving Bangkok native had found himself unable to swim, someone would have jumped in and helped.

Have you ever had a close call with losing a feline, canine, or another furry friend? Hopefully not!
