Kent State University has made a statement announcing that The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation will absorb the costs of 8 college students attending their university.
The announcement comes less than a week since the airing of the last episode of the 62 year old's NBC talk show.
According to the Associated Press, the Harveys' foundation is set to provide a scholarship to the amount of $23,000 per student, under the condition that they maintain a GPA of 2.5. The scholarship is being provided in honor of the late student Devin Moore, who died suddenly in December 2017.

Harvey also made the announcement during the final episode of his talk show. “The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation, along with Kent State and along with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, we’re giving full, full four-year scholarships to these young men right here,” he said.
The announcement was a heartwarming ending to Harvey’s show, which has a 7-year-long run with NBC. It was announced by the network the show was to be canceled back in May, to be replaced by a show with Kelly Clarkson. The cancellation came as a surprise to fans, although Harvey himself has mentioned his uncertainty with the network in the past.
“I thought I was [going to stay with NBC] until they made an announcement a couple of weeks ago that they wanted to give Kelly Clarkson the owned-and-operated NBC networks — that’s my slot," Harvey explained at the Variety Entertainment Summit. "I don't know if it sold, it's not selling like they thought, but I thought it would have been nice of them to come to me ..."
The Wrap reported that NBC Entertainment co-chairman Paul Telegdy told them in a conference call who they will replace Steve with on the show "Little Big Shots." Actress and comedian Melissa Mcarthy was named as the next host for the show, “Melissa’s just an incredible performer and an incredible comedian, someone who we feel is part of the NBC family. I think she’ll just bring an incredibly fresh perspective to it,” Telegdy said.

We’re devastated to see Harvey leave NBC, but are happy these boys get the education they deserve all because of his foundation. What do you think of Steve getting canceled? Let us know in the comments - and make sure you pass this along to your friends and family!
