Are you worried about coyotes attacking your dog? This new gear is saving lives and might be your answer!

It’s a growing trend that more coyotes than ever are beginning to attack small pets in metropolitan areas.

It also goes without saying that many times, small dogs are the most vulnerable to these attacks due to their size and inability to defend themselves against these coyotes properly.

It’s a scary thought that just taking your dog for a walk could result in their injury or in some cases, even death. Even human intervention does not prevent these attacks due to the aggresive nature of the coyotes.

So what can be done to prevent these attacks?

Well, Lindy Perkes may have some ideas for you. She lives in Kirtland, Ohio and recently her dog was spared from a coyote attack due to the help of one inventive device.

Lindy had grown worried about the thought of her dog being attacked by a coyote. She has a lot of wooded areas around her property, and often hears animals howl and lurk in the area.

She was concerned that her small rescue dog, named Mika, could have something awful happen to her every time she took her outside.

But once Lindy caught wind of a new invention called the CoyoteVest, she knew that she needed to buy one. This product is a type of armor for our pets that prevents against attacks from coyotes. It costs around $100, and it is adorned with spikes and whiskers in areas where coyotes would usually strike an animal.

Although the product might look funny on the outside, it does a great job at protecting animals from these attacks.

After hearing about the product, Lindy of course bought the vest for preventative measures but wasn’t sure if she would ever have to put it to the test in an actual coyote attack.

But one day, Mika and Lindy were playing in the front yard when a coyote ran up on them and tried to strike Mika. Lindy recalls: "She was heading for the jaws of death, literally."

Thankfully, the pup was wearing her protective gear, and the coyote was unable to capture or kill Mika. Now, Lindy is warning others about coyote attacks on small animals and noting that this device can quite literally save lives.
