South Carolina Man Was Kicked Out Of Mall Because He Looked Too Much Like Santa

People are asked to leave malls all the time — usually, their behavior warrants removal. Malls have rules and, if you can't follow them, you got to go. Not everyone knows all the rules, though. One fellow had no idea there was a ban on Santa Claus lookalikes.

When the holiday season arrives, South Carolina's Robert Allen likes to jump into his alter-ego persona, "Robby Claus."

He grows a beard, dresses in red and white, and tries to perk people up when he travels around the state. Robert has a simple goal in mind with his antics: he wants people to laugh and feel good. So, his presence is often welcome. Then, things turned sour when he stopped at a shopping mall in Rock Hill, SC. Robby wasn't trying to draw attention to himself, but he caught the eye of mall security. Before he could enter and buy lunch, Robby found out he wasn't allowed inside.

The reason given was, "He looked too much like Santa Claus." That's a no-go at the Rock Hill Galleria. Apparently, the mall has a signed contract with a Santa Claus who takes pictures with kids. The powers-that-be feel Robby would confuse kids and shoppers with his presence.

Robby never had any problems before. Hopefully, he won't have any in the future. By the way, Robby wasn't banned from the mall. He can go any time he likes, as long as he doesn't dress up as Santa Claus.

The strange tale of Robby Clause and the Rock Hill mall might surprise your friends. Tell them about it. Maybe they'll get a "Ho! Ho! Ho!" feeling from it.
