While pigs are often considered by some to be dirty animals, the fact is that they are intelligent and often very clean.

If you love animals and want to volunteer your time, look no further than the Cotton Branch Animal Sanctuary. If you are accepted, you could be a certified pig cuddler.

Located in Leesville, South Carolina, this non-profit sanctuary is committed to providing a haven for elderly animals that have been abused or neglected. This special place even has a dedicated piggy cuddler team. As luck would have it, they are now recruiting volunteers to be a part of this team of animal lovers.

What could be more rewarding than cuddling with pigs? The goal of the program is to allow the pigs to spend time with humans so that they become more socialized. This will put them into a better position to be adopted.

You do not even need experience or training to volunteer with this program. The only requirement is that you are at least 18 years old. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can also participate as long as your parent or guardian is with you to help, says the Sanctuary's own website.

In addition to actively trying to place animals with adoptive families, the sanctuary is also committed to educating the public about why farm sanctuaries are needed.
