Dec 17, 2018 by apost team

There have been several shootings that have taken place across the country over the past year. One of the most recent was in California at the Borderline Bar & Grill. It was college and country night when a young man opened fire in the bar, killing 12 people.

Close to 200 people were in the bar when the attack took place. Most of them were students from area universities who were just out to have a good time. Some of the people in the bar noticed smoke bombs being thrown just before they heard gunshots. However, officers are not certain that smoke bombs were used because there hasn't been evidence of that yet.

One of the first people who was shot was a security guard at the front door of the bar. The shooter then proceeded to shoot other security officers who were trying to stop him from entering the building. Dozens of people walked from the bar with minor injuries. Cody Coffman was one of the young men who was killed that night.

Cody's father expressed his feelings about losing his son soon after learning of the shooting. It was hard for him to talk to reporters because he was overcome with grief.

Cody's father was hopeful that his son would be one of the people who escaped. Cody was going to be a big brother. The last thing that Cody's father told him was that he loved him.

What did you think of this father's heartbreaking story? Let us know. Spread the word - these mass shooting have to stop happening.
