Samuel Bardwell suffers from anxiety. His anxiety can get so bad at times, he has collapsed during basketball class practices at one point. Five minutes into the game he excused himself and stepped outside. He collapsed on the grass. He tried getting back up but collapsed once more.

The athlete currently takes a medication, called Klonopin, in order to help him out and lower the risk of having an anxiety attack. Unfortunately, he couldn't get his medication for two days because they were closed.

When Samuel collapsed, he was immediately rushed to El Maino Hospital in Los Gatos, California. His dad, Donald Bardwell, met up with his son at the hospital. Like most patients believe, he was expecting his son to get good treatment. Sadly, that did not happen.

Some hospital visits can be a bit discouraging or unwelcoming due to staff and treatments, but Samuel and his father never expected they would be harassed by one of the physicians.

Samuel had to wait for a long period of time before the physician, Dr. Beth Keegstra, even saw him. It's understandable that a physician may be busy with other patients, but she was laughing and talking with her coworkers instead of treating Samuel. Then Keegstra, alongside her coworkers, proceeded to be verbally and physically abusive towards Samuel and refused to get him treatment. She yanked on his arm and called him a liar.

Fours hours after initially arriving at the hospital, Keegstra walked in with a security guard. Samuel and his father did not do anything wrong that would provoke the need of a security guard.

Keegstra did not believe Samuel was a real patient and that he just wanted drugs. Her rationale behind her messed up ideology is that Samuel was not nearly as important as the other patients and he was perfectly fine. She told him he was a liar.

One nurse gave Samuel a drug test to confirm he wasn't on drugs. He was then later given fluids and pain medication.

According to Donald, all Samuel needed was a pill or two in order to stop the attack.

Keesgstra was removed from her hospital working schedule once the hospital found out about her malicious interactions with Samuel. El Camino Hospital says they don't tolerate that kind of behavior and are sad to see an event like this occur to one of their patients.
