Dance scenes are some of the most classic, memorable scenes from movies. They move audiences in a way that no other type of scene can, inviting the audience to have a party right there in their own heart. Actors themselves are the people who make these scenes possible and bring joy to the audience. Over the years, we've seen thousands of dance scenes, but only a few of them have become what you'd call classic.

In this mashup video from 2016, YouTube channel Movie Remixer compiled dancing clips from over 60 classic movies, set to Justin Timberlake's hit Can't Stop The Feeling.

Justin Timberlake is more than just a singer or actor. Over the years, he's earned a reputation as a professional dancer, too. If you think Justin Timberlake, you probably immediately spring to some of the most classic dance routines from his music videos. Unlike movies, these bite-sized video classics aren't very long. They sure do leave a powerful impression with the audience, though.

Timberlake's Can't Stop the Feeling video recently got a complete mashup set to classic movie dance scenes. This video has brought joy to more than 6 million people and counting. The song itself is a celebration of dance in every single way, with lyrics like, "Nothin' I can see but you when you dance, dance, dance... Feed a good, good creepin' upon you... So just dance, dance, dance, come on."

Timeless Dance Scenes

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Patrick Swayze, John Travolta, and even Elvis Presley make appearances in this dance extravaganza. It's a feel-good venture from beginning to end, with Timberlake's voice blending in perfectly with an entire universe of classic dance scenes.

You'll see movie favorites like Saturday Night Fever, Dirty DancingGrease, Pulp Fiction, and all your other favorite dance movies over the years. In some movies, dancing was a central theme (such as in Flashdance), while others simply had a single captivating dance scene (such as a clip from Beetlejuice).

How Everything Was Mashed Up

Good video editors know how to time the scenes just right so that they look natural. Movie Remixer, who made this movie, used footage from over 60 movies. They say that it took approximately 10 days to bring this magical video to life. There are even scenes from movies as far back as the '30s. They also share that this video was made for "like and glory," not money.

The list of movies used is a what's what of classic movies. You'll see movies from all decades, including Singin' in the Rain (1952), West Side Story (1961), Stormy Weather (1943), The King and I (1956), and the list just goes on and on until it's so good you can't believe you can see this much dance in one location.

The internet is a neverending source of creativity and the editors of this video did a timelessly good job of taking even very old movies and putting them with a song that makes them exciting all over again. This is the kind of video you'll watch time and time again, especially on those rainy days when there's not much else to do.
