Soldier Finally Comes Face To Face With Military Pup That Kept Him Safe Overseas

If you have pets, you know the routine all too well. Your dog or cat probably follow you around the house everywhere you go, even into places that you don’t want them, like the bathroom.

They cuddle up with you on the couch, they follow you outside, and lay next to you in bed at night. They never allow you a moment of peace and quiet to yourself, and maybe you’re grateful for that.

It would be frustrating sometimes if you didn’t realize that their companionship was coming from a place of loyalty and friendliness. Dogs don’t judge us, and they stay by our side throughout our lives no matter what we go through. But this doesn’t just go for ordinary pets, but for military dogs as well.

Someone who knows about this situation all too well is a veteran from the Marines named Chad Migkins. His partner, a canine named Dini, would agree with him.

As reported by WDBJ, Migkins got to have an amazing reunion with his companion Dini in Virginia. The two have a long history together, starting when the soldier was serving overseas located in Japan.

He was the K-9 handler for Dini, and in their time together they formed a bond that seems as if it could not be broken. They constantly had each other’s backs and looked out for one another like they were family. Migkins recalls feeling lucky that he was able to count on such a strong companion during this hard time in his life.

However, when Migkins was sent out of Japan, Dini had lost his handler and was now under the responsibility of the U.S. Marine Corps. The soldier got upset when he thought about the possibility of never seeing his loyal dog ever again. That seemed like the case until a non-profit organization based in Texas called Mission K9 Rescue decide to step in.

They work towards rehabilitating and reuniting working dogs that have served in areas such as the military or the police force. Once Migkins got the news that he would be able to see Dini again, he was ecstatic to be reunited with such an amazing dog but felt nervous. Would the dog remember him? And would he still feel as bonded as they did before?

However, everything ended up going amazingly when the day finally came and Migkins remembers it as one of the best moments of his entire life. Once they were reunited and together once more, it was like nothing had changed and Dini followed him everywhere he went, happy to be alongside his master again. They spent the day cuddled up, remembering fond times they shared together and bonding all over again! You can learn more about Dini and Migkins and their adorable story in the video below.
