Soldier Doesn't Have A Lot Of Money - Buys Taco Bell For Two Hungry Kids Anyways

Many people think that soldiers have money because they serve their country. While being in the military is rewarding, the financial benefits aren't always what they appear to be, leaving many servicemen and women struggling to provide for their families.

A lack of money didn't stop a soldier in Alabama from making sure two young boys had food.

When Lt. Col. Robert Risdon went to a Taco Bell in Alabama one afternoon, he saw two young boys looking at the menu. It was a rainy day, and the restaurant wasn't too busy. The boys started talking to Risdon and asked him if he would like to purchase the food that they were selling.

Risdon didn't have a lot of money on him to spare, but he did something for the boys that was special. He admired them for trying to earn money on their own, so he gathered up all of the change that he had. Risdon didn't buy the food that the boys had made.

Instead, he asked them if they wanted something to eat from Taco Bell because they appeared as though they were hungry.

Not being someone to let children go hungry, Risdon assisted the boys in choosing something to from the menu and helped them order their food. He also paid for their meal. Even though Risdon didn't have cash on him at the time, he did have his credit card.

Risdon wanted to show the boys that someone cares about them. He was proud of the boys for trying to set up a table to make money. However, they shouldn't have needed to sit in the rain just to try to get money for food at such a young age.
