Social Media Post Convinces Empty Nesters To Adopt Seven Siblings Whose Parents Tragically Died In Accident

Back in June 2019, Pam and Gary Willis from Menifee, California adopted seven orphaned siblings after learning about them from a Facebook post. Prior to taking them in, the couple was empty nesters as their five biological children are grown up and have moved out.

There is no denying that tragic events happen in our world. It isn't hard to look at all the pain and suffering in the world and wonder if there is any meaning behind it at all. After all, if so many people are left to experience pain and hardship, is there any real purpose behind everything.

While it may be easy to throw up our hands and say that it's all just chaos, every now and then there is a story that renews our faith and hope in humanity and the big picture. Recently, a story came to light of two California empty nesters that prove that there is still a lot of good in the world.

It's the kind of story that makes you shake your head with sadness. Seven siblings from San Diego, CA were involved in a car crash with their parents. While all the kids survived the accident, their parents were not so lucky. This means that the horrific tragedy left seven children as orphans overnight.

Unfortunately, the children had nowhere to go. There were no relatives equipped to take in all seven children. An event like this is already earth-shattering when you consider that the kids lost their parents. Now, it looked like they were also going to lose touch with their siblings, Metro reported.

It's almost impossible to find adoptive parents who are willing to take on the logistical and financial challenges that come with seven children. While the situation did look hopeless, a couple of guardian angels were just about to step into the lives of these kids.

Meet Gary and Pam Willis

Gary Willis, 52, and Pam Willis, 49, were a couple of empty nesters who had successfully raised five adult biological children of their own. They loved being parents and, with all the kids now moved out on their own, the couple was feeling the pangs of having the hustle and bustle of children in the house.

It was serendipitous that Pam heard the story regarding the seven siblings in need of a forever home. She tagged Gary in the Facebook post where she had seen the story.

Gary was on the same page as his wife. The two knew they could make a difference in these kids' lives and set out to do something about it. Pam called the adoption service every week to make her case as to why she and Gary should be the new parents to these children.

They met the seven sibling and "instantly" fell in love. Gary and Pam started filling out the forms and getting the home visits that accompanied adoption.

Success!

After an arduous 12-month journey, Gary and Pam's adoption of the children finally became official. The seven children, ranging from age four to 15, were now in their new forever home.

You can see them goofing around and having a great time in many fun locations, like Disneyland. Gary and Pam don’t see anything extraordinary about their decision to adopt the siblings. According to the couple, they are just following God's plan.

A story like this reminds us that some good can come out of even the worst of tragedies. While it is very sad that these siblings lost their biological parents, it is heartwarming to see that they were able to stay together because two loving souls had room in their home, and their heart, for them.
