"So Thankful To Call You All Family!" Bindi Irwin's Fiancé Chandler Powell Gushes Over Her Family

Chandler Powell, 23, who recently got engaged to Bindi Irwin, 21, shared an appreciation post about how thankful he is for the Irwin family. Chandler and Bindi have been planning their wedding the last couple and months and been finding ways to honor Bindi's father the late Steve Irwin. 

Chandler frequently posts about how he is thankful to have the Irwin family by his side. Over the holiday's Chandler wrote on his instagram page, "It’s great to be home @AustraliaZoo. Reflecting on our time in Florida and Oregon for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thankful to have so much love in my life, spending time with my beautiful family is such a gift." 

He also commented in a later post, "'So thankful to call you all family!' about the Irwin clan.

Bindi Irwin announced on Instagram that she was getting hitched to Chandler Powell-- her longtime boyfriend. Bindi and her fiance began dating six years ago when Chandler visited the Australia Zoo where she worked. The couple told Good Morning America about some of the things they are hoping to include on their big day.

Chandler said, “So I think this wedding is going to be unique because it’s going to be at the zoo with tons of animals.” Bindi added, “I’m not sure how many people have walked down the aisle with a koala but we may be setting some new trends for weddings from here on out.”

Bindi told Entertainment Tonight that she has always imagined her wedding since she was a little girl. One of the ways she plans to honor her late father is to have her younger brother, Robert, walk her down the aisle in Steve’s place.

"For me, it will be really important that Robert walks me down the aisle," Bindi explained.  "Ever since Dad passed away, as a little girl you always think about your wedding day and I'm always so grateful that Robert is there and that he is such a big part of my life.”

Recently Bindi shared on her social media page how she and Chandler have adopted a puppy together. The conservationist wrote next to several pictures of the new puppy, "Our family is growing!" The 23-year-old posted the photos right before the new year.
