There's nothing quite like the buzz that comes from the birth of a royal baby. And although the royals always seem to generate an immense amount of news, perhaps you've forgotten about all the summer babies that caused a stir.

Princess Diana gave birth to her son on June 21, 1982 at St. Mary's Hospital in London, according to Clarence House. Fans and paparazzi alike crowded outside the Lindo Wing of the hospital that day, desperate to hear the news that the Princess had given birth. And, 16 hours after being admitted, it was revealed that Princess Diana had given birth to a baby boy, William Arthur Philip Louis, at 9:03 p.m.

Upon hearing the news, the Queen, who had been visiting an RAF regiment, claimed she was delighted. Prince Charles even said, "He has the good fortune not to look like me," as reported by People.
Prince William's father had wanted to name him Arthur, but Diana overruled the name, and in the end, chose William. His middle name Philip, on the other hand, was chosen for the baby's grandfather, and Louis for total mentor Lord Mountbatten. Prince William was also the first royal baby to be born in a hospital, rather than a palace, according to Town & Country.

Thirty years later, Prince William had a summer baby of this own in the form of Prince George. Popularly called "the great Kate wait," Prince George was born on July 22, 2013, at 4:42 p.m., according to The Guardian.
Following the birth, George's mother Kate stepped out of the hospital in a blue-and-white polka dot dress, paying tribute to Princess Diana, who had worn a similar dress after giving birth to Prince William.

Reportedly, some news outlets had been camped outside the hospital for three weeks waiting for the birth of Prince George. Kate also had to deal with mobile phones, all equipped with cameras, amid the birth of her son, which was an added challenge that Princess Diana didn't have to consider.
For three hours after the prince's birth, bells rang out from Westminster Abbey with a specially-composed peal entitled "Cambridge Surprise Royal." A gun salute also took place at the Tower of London and in Green Park, and landmarks all around the world were lit up blue. Prince George's birth also marked the first time the royal household issued a press release via Twitter before the news.

Princess Diana was born on July 1, 1961, at Park House on the Queen's estate, the third girl and first baby born healthy for the family. In fact, her family has lost a son named John before Diana's birth, who had died only ten hours into life.

Diana's mother, Frances, was thrilled with the birth of her baby girl, blessed with gorgeous blue eyes. She was also born just as a parade was being thrown for a local traffic cop; Diana was welcomed into the world with a roar of applause. Her birth, as the child of local dignitaries, was widely publicized in the local papers.
The Duchess of Sussex
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was born to parents Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle at West Park Hospital in Los Angeles on August 4, 1981 at 4:46 a.m. Her parents were overjoyed at their daughter's birth and were glad to take her to their suburb home in Woodland Hills.
Quickly after her birth, Meghan was nicknamed “Flower” by her mother, although she seems to have grown out of this nickname.

The daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice was born on August 8, 1988, at 8:18 p.m. Interestingly enough, her birthday (8/8/88) is a palindrome: a sequence of numbers that is the same both forward and backward.

Some of Princess Beatrice's first visitors at the Portland hospital where she was born were Princess Diana, and Princes William and Harry. Upon her birth, it was noted that Princess Beatrice already had a hint of her mother's red hair. Additionally, two weeks before the princess was born, her name was revealed in honor of Queen Victoria's youngest child.

When Princess Anne was born on August 15, 1950 at 11:50 a.m., post-war rationing was still being enforced. When her birth certificate was issued, her father, Prince Philip, was given a ration book and bottles of cod liver oil and orange juice. The first round fired at the customary gun salute at Hyde Park was engraved and sent to the Queen. Around the world, cheers echoed as news of the Princess's birth broke, especially in Austria, where the announcement was made in cinemas, theaters, and nightclubs.
