May 17, 2018 by apost team

If you have a glass-top stove, you are probably always looking for easier ways to keep it clean. Sometimes glass spray just doesn’t do the trick! Read on for six do-it-yourself methods that will scrub off that burnt on food while leaving your stove top sparkling clean!

Remember, your stove should be off and cooled down before you begin cleaning the top- you don’t want any of the cleaning products ruining your glass.

1. Scraping Method

Caked-on stains can be extremely hard to scrub off. A razor blade may be used to get them to come off.

First, squeeze a good amount of liquid cleaner onto the burnt-on spot. You can then take the razor and carefully scrape the stain off with the edge of the razor. Just be very careful if this is the method you choose!

2. Vinegar and Baking Soda Method

Sprinkle a liberal amount of baking soda on the top of your glass stove, then spray a good amount of vinegar on top of it. After it sets for at least 15 minutes wipe it all off with a wet towel.

3. Towel Method

Wipe down the surface with vinegar. Next, sprinkle a lot of baking soda all over the entire glass-top surface. Submerge a towel in hot water, then ring out the excess so that it is simply damp. Lay it over your stove top and let it sit for 15 minutes to loosen up the excess food and stains on the stove.

After the 15 minutes are up, take the towel off and use an abrasive sponge to get rid of any of the gunk that is left.

4. Dish Soap Method

Dribble a good bit of liquid dish soap all over the top of your stove, then use baking soda to cover it. Then, take a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and splash it over the mixture. Mix it up with your finger and use a scrubber to get the dirt and stains off.

Use a clean, wet rag to wipe everything off when you are finished.

5. Silicone Spatula Method

Use a silicone spatula to loosen up any grime and dirt that is caked on. A circular motion works the best. You will then mix up one tablespoon of vinegar with four tablespoons of baking soda to form a paste that you will place over the stains.

Let this paste soak in for a few minutes and then scrub it all off using a microfiber cloth. You can then use a clean wet cloth to wipe the stove top down.

6. Alcohol and Ammonia Method

Mix up a solution using 10 parts water with one part ammonia and three ounces of rubbing alcohol. Mix in a spray bottle and spray it on your glass-top stove. Allow the mixture to sit for a couple of minutes and then wipe it down.
