Sister In Tears After Airman Brother Appeares At Her Graduation

Graduation is an exciting time. Students are closing the end of an era while their parents look on with pride. It's a time of tears and laughter as everyone looks back on their school years.

Some graduations are even more special. Such was the case for a student named Miranda. The band played the school's anthem and Miranda started crying. Her fellow students wondered what on earth could be going on. That only made her cry harder.

Then an unexpected guest arrived. He stood at the podium and asked everyone to join him in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Miranda could barely say the words through her tears.

You see, that special guest was Miranda's brother, Derek. He's an airman with the United States Air Force. It's difficult to be abroad from one's family for so long. Deployments are never easy for anyone involved. How fitting that someone so dedicated to serving his country would lead a group in the Pledge of Allegiance. It doesn't get much more patriotic than that.

No wonder military homecoming and reunion videos are so popular. People love seeing the family together again. Miranda can't help but smile through her tears as she and Derek share a touching hug. That's the best graduation present anyone could ask for!
