The movie “Sister Act” was an overwhelming hit when it was put out in 1992 and continues to be famous even after almost thirty years. Starring Whoopi Goldberg, Maggie Smith, and Wendy Makkena, the movie took on not only a laugh-out-loud comic air but also included some fantastic music. Whoopi Goldberg stole the show with her part as Deloris Van Cartier, and also gave her one of the best performances of her career.

If you love the movie “Sister Act”, then you’re in luck! In October of this past year, BBC reported that Whoopi announced that she is not only going to be a part of the stage production of "Sister Act," but she is also going to be one of the producers of the popular play.

Whoopi hasn’t let her nun role go over the years. Back in 2017, she and the rest of the “Sister Act” cast took to “The View” to perform the song “I Will Follow Him." The special appearance was done in honor of the 25th anniversary of the beloved movie, EW said.

Since the actress who played Sister Alma, Rorenti Perenty, passed away back in 1996, her place was vacant on The View reunion, until the producer Mark Shaiman stepped in to take her spot. The result was breath-taking and tear-evoking at the same time. There was nothing quite like seeing the old cast together again, performing a song that took the world by storm in the 90's.

Those who watched The View’s reunion became emotional over the performance, with hundreds of them commenting their thoughts online. One woman said that it put the biggest smile on her face, while another commenter cried over the performance and bemoaned the fact that there are no longer wholesome movies available.
