Sir Rod Stewart Is Brimming With Smiles As He Poses With All Children & Grandchildren In Rare Family Photo

Sir Rod Stewart may have lucked out with a successful career, but he sure couldn’t be more blessed for having a happy family.

Stewart has left an indelible mark in the hearts and minds of millions of people worldwide, continuing to make an impact in the lives of many up until today through his music. But outside his career as an artist, Stewart is known for being a great family man.

Rod Stewart is among the best-selling music artists of all time. Having started his career in 1962, Stewart joined Jimmy Powell and The Five Dimensions as the band’s harmonica player and vocalist. Later on, he jumped on a few different bands before landing on his current one, Faces.

He is most known for his hits like “Sailing,” “Tonight’s the Night (Gonna Be Alright),” and “You’re in My Heart (The Final Acclaim),” among many other chart-toppers that eventually became classic hits.

Stewart is a recipient of the Grammy Award, a BRIT Award, and an Ivor Novello Award. In 1994, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005, the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006, and a CBE in the 2007 New Year Honours. 

Releasing countless hits and gaining international success, the rocker was also knighted by Prince William in 2016, making him ‘Sir Roderick David Stewart.’

Blessed with all the acclaim and achievements, Stewart is also blessed with the gift of family. On a rare occasion, a photo of Stewart had fans in high spirits as they saw the rock icon at the center of his big and happy family, which includes most of his sons and daughters and his grandchildren. Read on to learn more about Stewart’s massive family. 

Stewart opened up to The Daily Mail about his hairy past with women. “There was a period in my life — and it wasn’t a prolonged one, maybe just a few years — where it was a bit “one in, one out,’” Stewart admitted.

“The girls involved would never have known that, obviously,” he told the tabloid. The rockstar has eight children from five different women and has tied the knot three times. Most people believed that he would never actually settle down with one woman for the rest of his life.

Luckily, he found his wife, Penny Lancaster, to whom he has been married for more than two decades now.

He first met Penny at the Dorchester Hotel in London days after he and his ex-wife Rachel Hunter divorced.

“The bass player in my band, Carmine, said, ‘Listen, you’ve just come out of a long nine-year marriage. You’re not ready yet,’” he shared.

“I nearly strangled him! Six months later, he gave me her phone number and she came over. She has mended my heart in more ways than one,” he remarked.

With a loving and supportive wife like Penny, Stewart said there are simply no words to describe her.

“I am lost for words. They have not invented the words for how I feel about her. She is everything,” he told Express back in 2020.

Penny isn’t only there for Stewart as a spouse but also as a nurturing figure to their two children, Aiden and Alistair, and to Rod’s six other children from his previous partners and marriage.

Stewart has a daughter, Sarah, from a teenage relationship; Kimberly and Sean from his first wife, Alana Hamilton; and Ruby from his relationship with Kelly Emberg. He also has a daughter Renee and a son Liam, with his second wife Hunter.

Stewart is also there for Penny whenever she needs him. When Penny underwent menopause, he also made sure to be there for her every step of the way.

“I Googled and Googled and Googled. I Googled menopause so much when she was going through it,” he told The Independent back in 2021. “She was in a fragile situation. I just had to listen and learn and get ready for saucepans being thrown through the kitchen.” 

One interesting fact about Stewart is that he keeps his family life mostly private. But during a family vacation back in 2022, his wife Penny shared a snap from their rare get-together.

While some might argue that parents should treat all their children equally, Stewart has a different approach to parenting. He believes each of his children should be treated depending on their needs.  

“I have to be several different fathers because of the different age groups of my kids. You really have to treat all of them as individuals with individual problems,” he told PEOPLE in an interview back in 2021.

Undeniably fulfilled to have been gifted with a great wife and kids, Stewart couldn’t be any happier to see his children.

“I couldn’t ask for anything better. What makes me happiest now is seeing all my kids and my wife with big smiles on their faces,” he remarked.

On July 16, 2023, Stewart’s daughter, Kimberly, posted a rare snap on her Instagram account. The photo surprised many because it was a very rare occurrence for Stewart, the family patriarch, to pose in a photo with his large family. 

Taken in Spain, Stewart is brimming with a smile as he stands alongside his wife, Penny, and his children – Sean, Ruby, Renee, Liam, Alastair, and Aiden. Also in the photo was Liam’s son Louis, and Ruby’s son, Otis. 

When Louis was born, Stewart took to Instagram to pose photos of the newborn, who was named after him – Louie Mark Roderick Stewart. As for Otis, the famed songwriter even reportedly sang a “customized” jingle for his grandchild when he was born, The Daily Mail reported. 

Sadly, the entire family wasn’t complete in the photo as only seven of Stewart’s children were present. Sarah, whom Stewart had many years ago put up for adoption, was not present. In the past, she and her rocker father had already reconciled, but it seemed like she was not invited or did not attend the said family reunion. 

Kimberly’s daughter, Delilah, was also not present. She is Kimberly’s daughter with actor Benicio Del Toro. Despite their absences, fans couldn’t help but be happy on the rare occasion that the family is together. 

“The laughs that must happen with this group! God Bless ❤️🙏,” a fan commented on the post. 

“How lovely your family all together can’t beat it.. have lots of funxx,” another shared. 

“Gorgeous photo . Have a wonderful time 😎,” someone wrote. 

“I love that your Dad is holding Penny’s purse 😆 so freaking cute,” a fan noticed.
