Single Father Dedicates All His Love To His Son But Learns He's Not The Biological Parent

In a heartwarming tale of devotion and love, Dominique Hermann, a single father from New Jersey, experienced a whirlwind of emotions as he navigated the challenges of raising his baby boy by himself, only to learn of a surprising truth that changed the course of their lives forever.

Hermann was overjoyed to welcome his third child, Sa'kye Dominique, in January 2019. However, he found himself smacked in the middle of single parenthood when the mother of his baby abruptly left a month after the birth of their son.   

At first, Hermann was overwhelmed with raising a newborn baby by himself, including their two other older children, Shanice and Keyshawn. He braved the unknown territory and learned how to look after the needs of Sa'Kye. Fortunately, Hermaan also had the reliable support of his extended family. 

The single dad had a selfless babysitter who didn't mind looking after Sa'kye without any compensation while Hermann worked. He also had some very supportive relatives and friends who pitched in to look after the kids. Indeed, it took a village to ensure the best for Sa'kye, but little did Hermann know that his life was about to take an unexpected turn. 

Hermann, who works as a chef, confessed to his followers on Instagram that he was not ready to become a dad again in his 40s. He and the boy's mom didn't plan for a third child at all, and when she abandoned them, the father tried to be his very best dad to the children.

Life was moving along even as Hermann was without a partner. He documented his life with Sa’kye on his Instagram. But sometime later, he received an unexpected court order to return the child to his father. 

As it turned out, Sa'kye was not the chef's biological child. In a heart-wrenching twist of fate, the single dad had to make the decision to give up the child he had come to love and cherish as his own son. He had to follow the court orders.

"Yes I’m heart broken and hate the world or her for doing this," Hermann wrote on Instagram in November 2019. "I do hope he’s in God's hand and will forever be my son."

While the decision was not easy, Hermann said he completely understood what the birth father wanted because he would be doing the same thing if he were in his shoes. Thus, he could not blame his son's real family for wanting him back. 

"They did nothing wrong in my eyes," Hermann said, referring to the biological dad. "If I was his dad I would want him back also. So as a man, applaud that and understand." 

Still, the single dad could not help but get emotional when he said goodbye to the boy. Hermann said he was looking forward to celebrating his first Thanksgiving with Sa'Kye, but his biological family had other plans as well. 

Two months after the separation, Hermann was surprised to find his son's biological dad inviting him for a visit. Naturally, he grabbed the opportunity, especially since he had no inkling when he would see the boy again. 

Hermann had also documented this reunion as he had a photo of his son tired and sleeping in his arms. Despite their new lives, Hermann has come to accept their situation. 

“He will always be my son but I’ve come to accept God’s plans,” the father said.
