Simone Biles Welcomes New Baby To The Family With ‘Precious’ Cuddly Snap

Simone Biles is a superstar in the gymnastics world in her own right. One of America’s most decorated athletes, she is the proud winner of seven Olympic and 25 World Championship medals. Her popularity soared during her astounding performances at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, where she picked up gold medals in the vault, floor and all-around portions of the competition. While she participated in competitions that aided the United States in qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she eventually withdrew from the sporting event and, inspired by tennis star Naomi Osaka, cited the need to protect herself mentally.

“I say put mental health first. Because if you don't, then you're not going to enjoy your sport and you're not going to succeed as much as you want to. So it's OK sometimes to even sit out the big competitions to focus on yourself, because it shows how strong of a competitor and person that you really are — rather than just battle through it," the world champion had said upon withdrawing from the Games.

Her decision was lauded by her fans and the sporting community and prompted a debate over how the mental health of athletes should be better cared for. The move also sealed Biles’s status as a positive role model for young women, including fellow gymnast Suni Lee. “You see how (Biles) does things, and it's like, 'I wanna be like her,' so it really pushed me to be the best version of myself,” Lee said of her hero.

Now, Biles is set to be a more personal inspiration to a new member of her family, who she was pictured cuddling in a touching Instagram photo posted in November 2022.

Biles was born on March 14, 1997, in Columbus, Ohio. She was one of four children who were all eventually placed in the foster care system. In 2003, after her maternal grandparents found out their grandchildren were in foster care, they adopted Biles and her younger sister. Biles’s aunt adopted the other two children.

In 2012, Biles made the decision to switch from public school to home school so she could focus on her gymnastics skills and training. She reportedly spent anywhere from 20 to 30 hours a week practicing gymnastics. She graduated from home school in 2015 and went on to verbally commit to attending the University of California in Los Angeles, but eventually decided to take her gymnastics to the professional level and hasn’t looked back since.

Apart from the sporting world, Biles is also an incredible advocate for mental health issues. She is also the only survivor of the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal, that rocked the gymnastics world, who has continued to compete at a high level. After testifying at his trial, she pushed for agencies overseeing the sport, such as USA Gymnastics and the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee to take accountability. She said: “I feel like the guilt should be on them and should not be held over us. They should be feeling this (pain), not me.”

Her long list of accomplishments in sports and for society as a whole puts her in a great position to positively influence the newest addition to her family, Ronni Louise Biles, who was welcomed into the world on Nov. 25, 2022.

On Nov. 29, 2022, Biles threw her fans into a frenzy after uploading an endearing photo of herself cuddling a newborn child. Many immediately assumed the child was hers and that she had hidden her pregnancy over the past few months. However, the infant she was cradling was none other than her niece, born to her brother Ron. She captioned the post, “my precious little niece made her debut friday. I’m so proud to be your TT & I’m excited to spoil you! 🎀👶🏽”

One follower commented: “At first glance I was like….WAIT what? ok, your niece… phewww…Beautiful!!!!” while another wrote, “You look good as a Mother.” Many also commented about how Biles, who is engaged to NFL player Jonathan Owens, was training for her next big role in life. “You’re practicing!!” said one excited fan while another wrote: “Your turn now. Lol.”

Biles’s brother also welcomed his daughter in an Instagram post, where he wrote: “Hello world, meet my little daughter who has FINALLY made her debut. Ronni Louise Biles my precious and gorgeous little girl. … She may be small but TRUST ME she’s a mighty little one.”

While exciting baby news from Biles herself may have to wait, fans are eagerly awaiting the moment she and Owens trade vows. The pair announced their engagement on Feb. 15, 2022, in a post that showed the football player down on one knee.

“THE EASIEST YES,” Biles wrote in the caption. "I can't wait to spend forever & ever with you, you're everything I dreamed of and more! let's get married FIANCÉ.”

As for children? In an interview together, Owens remarked he wouldn’t mind a “football team” of kids, while Biles said she’d be happy with two. We can’t wait for the Instagram post when that day comes!
