Notorious talent show judge Simon Cowell was born to a middle-class family on Oct. 7, 1959, in Brighton, East Sussex, United Kingdom. He became a judge on the popular talent competition show “American Idol” in 2002, establishing himself as a big name in the music business.

Cowell is famous for his work on shows such as “The X Factor,” “Britain’s Got Talent,” and “America’s Got Talent.” He often makes headlines with his blunt and controversial comments as a talent show judge, sometimes including insults and even wisecracks at the contestants’ expense. However, Cowell’s harsh criticism has paid off, as he brought together successful groups like Fifth Harmony and One Direction.

When he is not busy judging others on television or working with various musical artists, Cowell spends time with his family, made up of his partner Lauren Silverman and their adorable son Eric, who live together in their family home in Malibu, California.

Over the years, Cowell’s appearance has come under fire, with many people continuing to point out that Cowell’s looks have changed immensely due to facial enhancements. Former “X Factor” judge Sharon Osbourne once humorously poked fun at his cosmetic treatments, saying, “His face is so full of filler, it doesn’t move.”

The mogul has since acknowledged overusing injectables like Botox and fillers.

In 2018, Cowell began prioritizing clean, healthy skin over relying solely on fillers and Botox. According to The Sun, he sought advice from renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh and underwent a Silhouette Soft Lift, a more natural procedure designed to maintain his appearance. The procedure, costing over $2,000, is described as a modern alternative to a traditional facelift.

Cowell said the procedure “hurts like hell” but noted that it helped to eliminate sun damage and “unplug all the crap.” The procedure marked a shift in Cowell’s approach to cosmetic treatments as he became more conscious of the potential harms of excessive procedures. But as he entered his late 50s and early 60s, Cowell’s smooth, wrinkle-free face and youthful appearance drew increasing criticism.

Many social media users commented on his changing appearance, with one saying:

“Proof enough to never ever fiddle with your face - if the multi millionaire cannot get the best professionals to do a perfect job, what on earth chance have us plebs got.”

“No matter the vast wealth , he is clearly deeply unhappy that he cannot stop the visible signs of aging,” another user wrote.

“Sad to say, but nothing he has done has improved him. Quite the opposite,” a user lamented.

One netizen criticized his teeth, saying, “Simon Cowell’s new teeth appear to be made of unobtainium,” as another similarly said, “Scientists worked tirelessly for six years to manufacture a porcelain white enough for Simon Cowell’s teeth.”

In August 2020, Cowell was hospitalized following a serious accident involving a new electric bicycle and had to spend many weeks in physical therapy. This gave him a new perspective on life, prompting him to rethink his outlook on health and wellness. Since then, he has reportedly lost around 42 pounds.

Another altering moment came when his young son, Eric, burst into laughter at seeing old pictures of Cowell. In a 2022 interview with The Sun, he admitted:

“Eric was in hysterics. Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero.”

Cowell said about his use of fillers:

“There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and didn’t recognise it as me first of all.”

He reflected on how “everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other,” highlighting the widespread popularity of cosmetic fillers. Cowell elaborated on his new outlook on health, saying, “for me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tonnes of water.”

In an August 2019 interview, Cowell revealed the secret behind his then-20-pound weight loss:

“The secret is don’t follow one of the fad diets because there’s too many and they contradict each other.”

“The allergy tests are too crazy, don’t have those. You just gotta cut out the obvious, right, and once you get used to it, you feel better,” he continued.

In September 2024, Cowell posted a photo of himself on Instagram and a video of himself posing with fellow “America’s Got Talent” judges and crew members, including Terry Crews.

While posing with athletes Jordan Chiles and Simone Biles, Cowell donned a sleek gray blazer and a warm smile. His expressive eyes and defined cheeks emphasized his slimmer features, creating a relaxed yet sophisticated look.

On Jan. 8, 2025, Cowell shared on Instagram that the day before marked his return to “Britain’s Got Talent” auditions in Blackpool’s Winter Gardens. He wore his signature red-tinted glasses, and the wrinkles around his eyes were visible. He posed with his fellow judges in the photo, and the post also featured audience images.

A few days later, Cowell uploaded an Instagram video addressing the Los Angeles fires. He expressed how “devastated” he was and how the city “has been my second home for the past twenty five years.”

In the video, Cowell’s youthful glow was apparent through his incredibly smooth skin and barely-there wrinkles.

The star announced that he would donate to Red Cross Los Angeles and encouraged others to offer support. He concluded:

“I am sending my thoughts, love and prayers to everyone affected. Love, Simon x.”
