When you think about an abandoned litter of puppies, you have to wonder how things will turn out. We think you'll agree that things turned out all right in this story. For a puppy called Burreaux from Louisiana, a tough start was followed by a couple of lucky breaks and then a dream home. All this worked out because this little puppy would smile at anyone who walked past him at the animal shelter.

Caddo Animal Control in Louisiana found three abandoned eight-week-old puppies one day. The Labrador-mix puppies were taken in by the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana. Luckily for these three pups, it was the best place for them to be found by their forever homes.

Courtney Wingate, the director of the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, named the puppies after the LSU coach and quarterback, reports People. The pups became known as O, Joe, and Burreaux. They went on to become a little bit famous.

This Humane Society is great about introducing pups to their people. On the Humane Society's Facebook page, there are always pictures and videos of the animals in the shelter's care.

Joe got his video fame playing fetch, and he was quickly adopted. And, as it turns out, Burreaux's video went viral. After all, it's hard to resist a little smiling puppy who's listed as "LSU Pup 'Burreaux.'"

At the time that Joe and Burreaux were gaining fame from their videos, their sister O was still available for adoption. But chances are good that the Humane Society made sure she was meeting all the right people too.

The shelter shared Burreaux's cute smile on their Facebook page, as he smiled at all the visitors who passed by. He gained instant fame for that smile. Burreaux's smile even won him a spot on the front page of the Shreveport Times, the homepage of People Magazine, and the local nightly news.

In fact, the smiling video on Facebook is how Burreaux found a home. Hollie King saw the video and inquired about Burreaux. She soon adopted Burreaux and named him Pappy. Pappy is now a happy dog with a home. Hollie says he hasn't been flashing that cute smile at home, so she guesses that maybe the pup was just using it to find his family.

In any case, that smile worked its magic. The smiling puppy has the home of his dreams. Hollie says he likes to watch movies, and he also loves playing in the grass and going places with her.
