Shelter ‘Marries’ Dogs That Have A Special Bond So They Have To Be Adopted Together

Mar 19, 2019 by apost team

Jack and Diane have been through a lot together. These two beautiful dogs were rescued together from a cemetery in Maine. The pair were then delivered to Kennebec Valley Humane Society, where they were given the best treatment and care possible from the shelter workers there. Unfortunately, no one stepped forward to claim ownership of the two dogs.

Both dogs have been living at the shelter for the past six months. Jack and Diane make the cutest dog couple as they strive to make the most of their home. While it is much better than being a stray on the streets, they would rather have a forever home with someone who loves them.

However, these dogs come as a package deal. The shelter does not want to separate these two dogs who have been through so much together.

To make sure that didn’t happen, the staff decided to do something completely unorthodox. They “married” the pair! They decided to perform a special ceremony because they often joked that the two dogs acted like an “old married couple.”

This was also a way to promote the dogs so that someone would step forward and adopt them. That’s when the wedding idea occurred to them.

Before the ceremony took place, workers decorated the shelter with lots of white flowers. A whole bunch of “guests” showed up to take part in their big day. Diane had her own veil to wear and a bow tie was placed on Jack.

It was adorable to see Diane walking down the aisle toward her “Groom.” Jack was extremely happy to see her coming. In fact, he took off and met her halfway! Meanwhile, guests were given some information on the happy dogs.

After that, the “priest” let the pair team up and give him a ton of happy kisses. The staff then held a pizza party for everyone involved. What a fun way to advertise two very special animals! We hope that this video reaches the right family and that these two are adopted. They certainly deserve a loving home that they can call their own!

Well, isn't this the cutest wedding you've ever seen? Let us know in the comments what you thought of the shelter's idea! Don't forget to pass this on to all dog lovers out there and especially to anyone who would love to adopt the pair and give these dogs a chance at a happy home.
