If you were a fan of the show “America’s Got Talent” during 2010, then you probably remember the name Jackie Evancho.

The then ten-year-old singing sensation stunned the world with her amazing rendition of the opera song “O Mio Babbino Caro”.

Unlike many child stars who fade into the shadows after a major breakthrough, Jackie is still in the music scene and continues to rock the world with her amazing abilities!

As a little girl, Jacqueline Marie Evancho, called “Jackie” for short, assured viewers on “America’s Got Talent” that the best things come in small packages. Then, to prove her point, the tiny singer belted out a breathtaking version of Giacomo Puccini’s popular song. While Jackie didn’t win first place in the competition, she came in a close second.

Just because Jackie came in second place didn’t mean that she would give up on her dreams. Instead, the child who first came to love music after watching the film version of “The Phantom of the Opera” left the competition with renewed incentive to continue singing. She took voice lessons and then started performing in events around Pennsylvania.

Jackie came in the spotlight again when she started her own YouTube channel, sharing her abilities with the world. After an online performance with David Foster, Jackie entered the U.S.A. World Showcase Talent Competition where she, once again, took second place.

As Jackie made a name for herself in the music world, she began catching the attention of record labels. Columbia Records and Jackie signed a deal, giving her the opportunity to release an album titled “O Holy Night”.

Jackie’s first album did just as well as everything else she had done in the music industry. The young girl watched her album skyrocket to second place on the Billboard 200 and it also went high on the Holiday Albums chart. Ultimately, “O Holy Night” earned Jackie the spot of best-selling new artist of 2010 and also positioned her as the youngest singer to ever earn a spot in the top 10 most popular songs. Within a week, Jackie had sold over 230,000 copies of her album and saw it go platinum.

The success of “O Holy Night” sent Jackie’s career headed forward, giving her places on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”, “The Today Show”, “Fox and Friends”, and “The View”.

Jackie wasn’t ready to quit with just one album! In 2011, the little girl release “Dream with Me”, an album that once again topped charts and went gold.

Showcasing her abilities, Jackie performed a solo concert that was aired on PBS – not only was it enjoyed by many people but it was also the most-watched program on the station that year. In an effort to promote her new album, Jackie toured the United States, then followed up with a Christmas CD called “Heavenly Christmas”.

The tween sensation had lots of advertising opportunities, and got jobs in campaigns for GUESS Kids, Justice Girls Clothing, and other popular brands.

With singing as her passion, Jackie proved to the world that she wasn’t going to be a name that simply faded into the background with time. Over the last few years, Jackie Evancho has continued to release new records that have thrilled fans and gained the attention of countless listeners.

Now eighteen-years-old, Jackie has had a lot of changes take place in her life. Her most recent album called “Two Hearts” was released in 2017 and she spent most of 2018 performing. While most of Jackie’s career was spent as a child at home with her parents, she has now blossomed and lives alone in New York City.

Jackie explains that her manager is the one who convinced her to move out on her own and, while the move was initially frightening, Jackie couldn’t be happier with her choice. She credits New York as an amazing place that fills her with creativity, gives her independence, and makes her feel at home.

Although she is still a teenager, Jackie feels that she is ready to do more than just perform; instead, she’s also starting to do things within the business side of the entertainment world. Jackie told interviewers that, while growing up, she only wanted to perform – she wanted nothing to do with the actual business side of the industry and found it frightening. Now, Jackie is overcoming her fears and has actually found a love for all aspects of the entertainment world.

While Jackie’s huge successes show that she is a favorite among music-lovers, she has also faced her fair share of nasty criticism.

After performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration and stunning the crowd with her version of the national anthem, Jackie was faced with a lot of backlash for singing at such a controversial event. Jackie has also had to battle rude and hurtful comments about her sister being transgender.

No surprise, Jackie hasn’t let the critics get to her. She explains that her family has come closer together during the criticism, giving each other the support they need to keep going.

If Jackie’s critics believe that they’re going to stop her, then they’re in for quite a surprise! Jackie has no plans to slow down. She tells reporters that she’s already working on a new album that should be released in early 2019.

Never one to be held back, Jackie is in full control of her music and explains that this album will include a lot of popular Broadway songs that she has touched with her own hand of creativity.
