Kaitlyn Berthiaume was ecstatic about joining the cheerleading squad at Messalonskee High School located in Maine. At the tryouts, she came to find out that she would be the only one making the team. No-one else showed up for the tryouts. They had either backed out or decided they just didn't want to be on the team.

This would have stopped a lot of people from pushing forward, but it didn't stop Kaitlyn. She went through tryouts and onto being the only girl on the team. She has a passion for cheering and just couldn't quit, especially during her senior year of high school.

Now Katilyn is making national headlines for doing what she loves. Being the only cheerleader for an entire team is sure to shock a few people. She has been at every football game, right there on the sidelines, ready to cheer with her pompoms ready to go.

Her coaches, two of them, are very impressed with her determination to come to every game and cheer by herself.

Kaitlyn does admit that it can be very nerve-racking before the game. She thinks about how everyone looks at her for leads on all the cheering and how there isn't anyone else to rely on if she forgets, or stumbles through a part.

Her family states they were even concerned about this too. Her dad says there is no way that he would be able to do something like that and applauds her for it.

Her mom said that her heart sank when she found out about it, but she has been happy to see how far Kaityln has come from the beginning.

Her mom and dad are inspired by her confidence and bravery. They are there at every game to support her. They even know all the cheers too. With their help and help others from the stand, Kaitlyn definitely has others cheering with and for her.
