One of the best things about Christmas is the joy we all get to hear in a variety of places. It’s such a cool thing to pass by a store and hear that wonderful holiday song you loved so much as a child.

No matter where you go, you are sure to hear holiday tunes or see some type of festive holiday decorations. The Pennsylvania All-State Chorus just happened to be eating at the food court at a local mall when they decided it was their duty to perform a very impromptu performance of holiday tunes.

However, the performance was very warranted and was appreciated by all. Well, maybe all but one woman.

The performance wasn’t planned. It was the middle of the day at the Seaway Mall in Niagara Falls. The food court was bustling with holiday shoppers. One woman sat alone to enjoy her meal. In the midst of eating she pulled out her cell phone and began to talk to a friend in a very loud voice. While many people gave her the warranted stink eye, no one seemed to be doing anything about the disruption. The entire food court was filled with people in the holiday spirit. However, this woman continued to talk very loudly on her phone.

One man decided he wasn’t going to put up with it. He boldly stood on his chair and began loudly singing to the Christmas classic “Messiah” by Handel. Another man and woman felt the holiday cheer and chimed in with him to the tune. One at a time, more people joined in to sing the chorus. There were now more than 100 people making up the incredibly chorus. Sure, not everyone was a professional singer, or even singing on key. However, the sight was a truly special occasion. Complete strangers joined together for a fantastic flash mob that had the sole goal of spreading some holiday cheer to everyone else at the food court.

People began to bust out their cell phones to film the incredible event. Everyone at the mall couldn’t stop smiling. It was an incredible event that made hundreds of complete strangers feel like kindred spirits. What is the best expression of impromptu holiday cheerfulness? We’d love to hear your stories of holiday cheer!
