She Made An Impact: 6 Facts About ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ Star Frontwoman Beth Chapman

We all recognize Beth Chapman as Duane Chapman’s right-hand woman and tough wife on their show ‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’, but she was an amazing woman all on her own. 

Beth Chapman passed away on June 26th, 2019 following a two year battle with cancer. Fans from all over the world came together to honor her life and express their condolences for the Chapman family.

Here are 6 impressive facts about the late bounty hunter:

1. She was already a great-grandmother at age 51.

On January 25th, 2019, her 23-year-old grandson Dakota Chapman, son of Leland Chapman, welcomed a new baby with his girlfriend.

2. Her first name was actually Alice, not Beth.

Her full birth name is Alice Elizabeth Smith, but went by Beth. 

3. Beth and Duane wed just one day after the death of his daughter.

Barbara Katie Chapman passed away in a traffic collision in 2006 at the age of 23 just one day before Beth and Duane were due to wed, as per Hawaii News. According to the report, the couple decided they would marry on the day as planned despite the tragic news and used the wedding reception to honor her life.

4. She’s going down in the books!

At the young age of 29, Beth obtained her license to become a bail bondsman, making her the youngest woman in Colorado to do so. The record was eventually broken by her own daughter, baby Lyssa.

5. She became a Bounty Hunter for love.

She once told A&E that she decided to become a bounty hunter after she met Duane, because she reportedly fell in love with him and wanted to spend more time with him. 

6. She kept on working, despite her diagnosis.

When Beth found out her cancer had returned and spread to her lungs, she was determined to fight for her life and continue what she did best: catch bad guys. Duane even told Entertainment Tonight that she found it therapeutic:

"I needed therapy and the therapy she used when she was sick was to hunt. Her therapy, you know, was hunting, bounty hunting, catching the bad guy,"
