In every life there is suffering. For all of us this is inevitable. However, for Valory Newton she seemed to be handed a higher dose of it than most. In 2014, at only eight-years-old, Valory was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.

Certainly, no child should have to deal with such an illness at such a young age, and no child should have to face the pits of hopelessness when their life completely turns on its head. Even more, no child should have to suffer the loss of limb. Unfortunately, Valory had to find the strength to get through such hardships when doctors informed her and her parents that her cancer could only be prevented from having her leg amputated.

While this news would be devastating for anyone, especially any child, it was especially hard for Valory, a passionate dancer. A leg amputation would destroy her dancing career, or so it would seem.

However, this young girl from Walbridge, Ohio showed us just how we should move through suffering and face obstacles head-on. Instead of giving up and wallowing in self-pity, Valory harnessed her passion for dance; and when, at the age of 10, she was told her cancer had not spread, she started dancing again.

In a video she posted to her Instagram account, viewers can see just how dedicated Valory has been these past couple of years. With the use of crutches to assist her during part of the dance, Valory brought life to the song "Skyscraper" and wowed her audience.

She started with elegant spins, using her crutches to help balance herself on one leg. Yet, her next moves revealed to an even greater extent the degree of her passion, dedication, and ability:

With exceptional agility and balance, Valory, without the assistance of her crutches, twisted her body into a backbend, flipping herself effortlessly, all on one leg. Unsurprisingly, Valory's supporters praised her on Instagram, citing her as an inspirational young woman.

She even had a celebrity, Nia Sioux from Dance Moms, repost the video in support.

Clearly, Valory not only made herself proud by accomplishing such a difficult dance but she also helped others see how anyone can persevere to do something they might think impossible. If you found this video inspiring, please spread it to your friends and family!
