Sharon Osbourne is one of the most outspoken TV personalities in the United States and in the United Kingdom. She has been a fixture both in American and British media for quite some time already. Being wed to the famous Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, Sharon has also made her name in the industry as a prolific entertainment manager.

Most notably, Sharon gained prominence when she and Ozzy tied the knot in Maui, Hawaii, on July 4, 1982. Since then, the two have lived a peaceful life together in the United States along with their three children – Aimee Osbourne, who is an actress and a singer; Kelly Osbourne, who is a fashion designer and a model; and their only son, Jack Osbourne, who has traveled the world together with Ozzy on their short History channel series, "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour."

Aside from being a caring mom and wife to Ozzy, Sharon has also become a television personality loved by women in both the United States and her home in the United Kingdom. In the US, she was a mainstay host of the daytime talk show series "The Talk"' for 11 seasons and was a judge on "America's Got Talent" from 2007 to 2012. But she appealed more to those in her home country when she became a judge on the British version of "The X-Factor" for seven years.

As someone who gives opinions for a living as a talk show host and critiques work as a judge, Sharon has also been on the receiving end of backlash and criticism on social media for her various takes and opinions on certain topics. In an October 2022 interview with The New York Post, Sharon voiced her concerns about a specific demographic of people on social media – the “woke.”

According to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, “woke” is chiefly US slang used to describe someone who is “aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues, especially issues of racial and social justice. Beginning in the 2010s, the use of the word has encompassed a larger spectrum of awareness on social issues. Nowadays, it is also being used to refer to a group of people who shares a specific belief in American Left ideas.

Sharon has faced a lot of issues in the past before, which she believes to have been started by “woke” people, and it's plagued her career too. In 2021, Sharon was permanently suspended from “The Talk” after a heated argument about racism with Sheryl Underwood because of discussions around Meghan, Duchess of Sussex

"I feel even like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist. What’s it got to do with me? How can I be racist about anybody?" she said during the conversation

At the time, Sharon was defending Piers Morgan’s honor, who had publicly revealed that he did not “believe a word” of anything that Meghan said during her shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey.

"I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth,” she infamously tweeted, expressing her support for Morgan.

Sharon has since doubled down her stance on Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan. In her documentary, “Sharon Osbourne: To Hell and Back,” she vocalized her frustrations even more on the backlash she received at her workplace and online from “woke” people just for expressing her opinions.

Expounding more on her four-part docuseries that was released on Fox Nation, Sharon sat with The New York Post for a lengthy conversation about what she claimed to be her critics.

"Woke people want to be accepted by everybody, but why can’t non-woke people be accepted by them? I’m not talking about hate groups — they are the worst in the world — but we need to let people have opinions,” she pointed out. “If our opinions get taken away, we might as well be living in China. (Woke people) tell you what to say and how to behave. If that is how you want to live your life, good for you. But it ain’t for me."

According to Page Six, Sharon has since pushed her belief that the show execs and her co-hosts on "The Talk" orchestrated the attack on her during the heated conversation, noting that the network punished her for talking ill about the Sussexes’ interview with Winfrey, which was also aired on the same network.

Still part of her discussion with the Post, Sharon described “woke” people as “born agains.”

"It’s like a religion. The woke people, they are entitled to opinions; God bless them, even though they bore me to death — but the rest of us are not. They have a new word every day, and a new campaign every day, and if anyone goes against it … what? We’re the devil? They certainly act like we are,” she furthered

Sharon, along with his husband Ozzy, has since expressed wanting to return to the United Kingdom after her issue with Underwood exploded, as she said that she wants to “go home” after 20 years of living in California.
