Shaq Buys 10 Pairs Of Shoes For Kid With Size 18 Feet Whose Mother Couldn't Afford Them

The task of purchasing shoes for her 13-year-old son Zach has been a chore for single mother Brittany Keith. This is because her son already wears a size 18 shoe despite the fact he is barely a teenager. Not only is it difficult to locate stores that carry his size, but the price tag on the shoes is also a problem.

In her frustration, Brittany asked for help on social media. She expressed appreciation in advance for anyone who could provide aid to her and her son.

The problem faced by Brittany and her son was one that is all too familiar for NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal. O'Neal wears a size 23 shoe and decided to surprise Zack at a shoe store in Atlanta. Zach was ecstatic.

Not only did he get the opportunity to meet one of his idols, but he was also provided with tips and advice from one of the greatest men to ever play basketball. Shaq even traded phone numbers with the teenager. And of course, Zach received a lot of shoes.

Shaq explained that Zach's story made him think of his own childhood. The shoe store they chose wasn't just any shoe store but Friedman's shoe store where Shaq used to go as a kid, and where he still gets all of his shoes. When he was a young man, Bruce the owner of Friedman's, helped him out with a free pair of shoes. Shaq wanted to pay it forward and help out a kid.

"Mom couldn't afford shoes. The kid had big feet. And I just kind of reminisced about how that used to be me, my mom and my dad," Shaq told CBS.

O'Neal gave Zack ten pairs of shoes that fit his feet perfectly. The collection of shoes included dress shoes. Zach's mother said he had not owned a pair in many years. Brittany was appreciative and told WFMY News that the gesture from O'Neal provides a great deal of help for her and Zack.
