Actress Shannen Doherty, 48, has opened up about her difficult cancer struggle in her latest Instagram post.

The post comes shortly after she had shared the news of her Stage 4 breast cancer which had sadly come back after she went into remission a few years ago.

The Instagram post showed a gorgeous photo of the actress horseback riding along with a caption that acknowledged her fans and the way they are helping her through a very difficult time. She did not shy away from being honest about the struggle of her severe illness.

"I want to thank all of you for your love, prayers and support. It’s an odd time right now and I find my feet not completely underneath me. To say I have stress is an understatement. To say that I’m struggling is mild. But... I believe that I will find my footing. I’ll dig deep for the inner strength I need to face it all. I pray I do it all with dignity and grace. I have so much to say. So much to share. I will. For now... please know how much you all help lift me."

She spoke to Good Morning America on February 4 revealing that her cancer had come back, remarking, "I don't think I've processed it. It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways."

The public revelation was very difficult for Shannen who was originally very candid with her diagnosis on social media in 2015. But this time she was working on a grueling project, the '90210' reboot and her co-star and friend Luke Perry had just passed away so she kept it to herself.

Now, she is vocal about her status and hopes that she becomes an inspiration to others:

"I think the thing I want to do the most right now is I want to make an impact," she said to GMA. "I want to be remembered for something bigger than just me."
