Senior Dog With Broken Tail Found Passed Out On Dirty Mop, Kindhearted Rescuers Step Up To Rescue Her

One little dog has proven it’s never too late to start over. Recently, an animal rescue organization in Los Angeles, Hope For Paws, received an urgent text message. An injured dog was running in and out of traffic in Los Angeles.

After avoiding cars for a while, the little old dog couldn’t bear the pain any longer and finally collapsed behind a fence onto a dirty mop. Once the Hope For Paws rescuer found her, he realized the poor old pup was also hunch-backed. He quickly sprang into action and kept the camera rolling.

Once he got permission from the concerned property owner, the Hope for Paws rescuer approached the suffering old dog, who had collapsed unconscious between a wall and a car. Seeing that the net was too big for the narrow space, he decided to gently use a snare to catch her. The dog immediately came to life but did not attempt to fight. Rather, the dog-tired pup collapsed once again. Her rescuer felt a special connection with the ailing and aging dog. He named her “Pipa.”

Vida Tuch, who had texted Hope For Paws about the dog, gently fastened the leash to Pipa. As her rescuers brought her to the car, Pipa perked, knowing her life was saved. She even wagged her painfully broken tail. After checking to see if Pipa was microchipped, her rescuer made a soft bed for her, and sweet Pipa thanked him with a lick.

Once at the hospital, the vets found that Pipa had a serious spinal infection. She also lost a toe while running desperately through L.A. traffic. After recovering at the hospital and a much-needed bath, Pipa was ready for a new home. Lionel’s Legacy is an animal rescue organization dedicated to the task of finding homes for senior dogs. With her health restored and a renewed sense of hope, Pipa was ready for a forever home.

“She's a funny old gal with a deformed back foot and a hunchback but Pipa doesn’t let it stop her. And she’s only 8-9 years old!” Lionel’s Legacy posted on Facebook. Fortunately, Pipa will no longer need to sleep on a dirty mop. In fact, Pipa's life is full of love, treats, and a soft bed. We're sure sweet Pipa will soon find her forever home.
