Sometimes, you just gotta go with the flow, or, in this case, the ocean ride. A group of boaters caught an adorable sight when they discovered a seal riding on the back of a while, reminding all of us that it's important to seize an opportunity when it comes to us.

The boaters captured the amazing animal encounter off Mexico's Baja Penninsula. Seals are known for their charisma, and everyone on board the boat was amazed and delighted at this seal's spontaneous "trick."

But luckily, there was nothing but smiles for everyone involved as the seal popped under the waves only to reemerge on top of a whale. Lucky for the seal, the whale wasn't an Orca, which is known to turn the smaller mammals into snacks.

Although the silly seal surfing on a whale's back is rare, animals have been captured riding other animals in the wild. National Geographic published an article exploring the phenomena, which cited several instances of unlikely animal transportation including a crow escaping danger by riding on an eagle's back.

Animals may wind up in these strange situations out of survival, but others, like the seal, may have seen it as an advantage. Tired of swimming, the seal may have figured out that riding on the whale's back would give it some time to rest without putting itself at risk of being attacked.

Whatever the reason, we're glad that we got to see the moment with our own eyes. What do you think was going through this seal's mind as he rode on this whale's back?
