There's no denying that today's political correctness culture has grown to massive proportions. Whether you agree with the current movement or not, it's clear that students' political opinions are taken very seriously in educational environments.

One Scottish teen, aged seventeen, is no exception to this rule. As the Daily Mail reported, after challenging his teacher's opinion on gender, the teen got kicked out of class for making questionable remarks.
The teacher stated that a website was very "old fashioned" since it only featured two options for gender selections: male or female. During the lecture, the student secretly recorded the conversation between himself and his instructor.

Ultimately, the teen pushed back against these statements, stating that the biological basis of sex is based on male and female sex characteristics. When the instructor questioned him, the teen claimed that other identifications are based purely on social constructs.
In a fierce display of indignation, the teacher stated that the school prides itself on being inclusive and that the student's view should be "kept at home". Soon, the argument escalated. The teacher claimed that the opinion was a clear example of discrimination against other genders.
After posting the video online, the clip gained a massive amount of traction among right-wing circles. After all, shouldn't students be allowed to voice their opinions if stated respectfully, no matter how different they might be from the school's view?
In response, the school board posted a statement reiterating the importance of inclusivity. "In our schools, fostering good relations among different groups can be a real challenge but our aim is to support a fairer, inclusive environment for all", one board member stated, as quoted by The Independent.
Do you think that the teacher was in the right for kicking out the teen during class? Does the teen's potentially inflammatory statements justify exclusion from the discussion? Or do all opinions have a right to be discussed? Of course, these are hard questions to answer. If the school values inclusivity, why are some opinions shut out of the classroom entirely?
