A first-year principal in Beaumont, Texas is going viral for the sweetest reason. Belinda George wanted to stress the importance of reading to the students at Homer Drive Elementary School, so she started reading them bedtime stories.

Every Tuesday, Belinda George puts on her favorite pair of pajamas and starts a Facebook Live session. Students can tune in and listen to their principal read some of her favorite bedtime stories.

George keeps it interesting by using funny voices and getting into character. She donned a pair of ladybug wings when she read "Ladybug Girl," and she wore a Cookie Monster onesie to read "Madeline's Christmas".

Belinda George also uses props. She bought a giant inflatable astronaut for when she read the "Astronaut's Handbook".

According to the Washington Post, Students often approach Principal George in the halls to find out where they can get the last book she read. They think seeing their principal in her pajamas is hilarious, and George believes it makes her more approachable. If they see her as a friend instead of a disciplinarian, they won't be afraid to talk to her if something is wrong.

Belinda George started Tucked-in Tuesday for the 680 students that attend Homer Drive Elementary School, but students from all over the United States have been tuning in. Her latest Facebook Live session had more than 2,000 views.

Not every child has an adult at home willing to read to them. Unfortunately, some parents struggle with reading, and they don't want their children to know. Other parents don't have the time for bedtime stories. Belinda George wants everyone to love reading as much as she does.

The majority of students at Homer Drive Elementary School come from economically disadvantaged households. Belinda George knows what it's like to grow up in an economically disadvantaged home.

Her parents raised six children in a trailer in Louisiana. Despite her parent's lack of education, they insisted that Belinda and her siblings studied hard. They wanted her to have every opportunity in life, and that's how Belinda George feels about every single one of her students.

It's only Belinda George's first year at Homer Drive, but literacy rates are already improving. Maybe it's her amazing storytelling abilities, or maybe it's the way she makes reading fun. We know one thing for certain: The world needs more educators as dedicated as Belinda George is.
