Most people have made a prank call or two in their lives. You may have prank called the local pizza place at a sleepover, or maybe you called your middle school crush just to hang up on them in a panic.

As we become adults, we realize that many calls really aren’t pranks. No, they are calls made by scammers who are trying their best to get hundreds or thousands of dollars from us. Most people know right away that something isn’t right.

For example, there is a popular scam concerning the IRS right now. A scammer pretends that you are being audited by the Internal Revenue Service and must pay thousands of dollars in order to avoid being arrested on the spot.

This was the case for a Canadian man named Dave, who is actually a full-time police officer for his area. He has spent a lot of time warning others about scam phone calls only to receive a funny one himself.

It is called the CRA scam, similar to the scam performed in the United States. You will receive a call from the Canada Revenue Agency saying that you haven’t declared all of your income and that you will be arrested for tax fraud if you don’t pay up.

Then they inform you that if you don’t pay through iTunes gift cards, the local police will be notified and will issue a warrant for your arrest. It sounds unbelievable, but unfortunately, these terrible scammers have no problem preying on the elderly and other naïve groups. Many of them get so scared that they fall for the scam.

When Dave received this type of call, he knew that he wanted to have some fun with them. The caller said that he owned $2,399 and that the police were about to come out and arrest him if he didn’t pay on the “debt.”

Since Dave is a police officer himself, he knows exactly how things work through his system. He also knew that he did not owe the CRA anything at that time. It was obviously just a scam.

At first, Dave pretended that he was scared of what was about to happen. After going back and forth with the caller, he reached for his stapler. You’ll crack up at what happens next!
