Santa Rescued By Firefighters After 'Reindeer' Deserted Him On A Rooftop

Dec 12, 2018 by apost team

During the holidays we all wait with bated breath for Santa to visit our homes and delivery Christmas joy. We all hope to make his nice list and wake up to presents under the tree. While we all think of Santa as magic, he still has to struggle with the issues of a holiday commute, just like us.

This year, Santa’s trusted fleet of reindeer struggled with their holiday commute so badly that they actually forgot about jolly old St. Nick. From Dasher to Dixon, the whole team accidently left Santa on a rooftop in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Santa was delivering some early Christmas joy to the Firefighter’s Museum in Fort Wayne in early December when his team of reindeer took off, leaving Santa stranded on the roof. The reindeer apologized later, saying that they simply thought it was time for their lunch break. The team felt awful to leave their fearless leader behind!

Santa lucked out! The local fire department in Fort Wayne soon came to his rescue. The firefighters pulled up to the Firefighter’s Museum with sirens in full force. Santa waved his arms to get the attention of the town’s trusted firemen and women. The firefighters hopped into a 95-foot cherry picker ladder to get all the way up to the roof. Santa climbed in and he was soon safe on the ground, much to the delight of the little girls and boys who looked on with joy.

The whole rescue was captured on video and children cheered for the firefighters and looked on with delight. Santa waved to the crowd and commended the fireman who rescued him on what a great job he was doing! Santa was so thankful for the help that he encouraged the crowd to give one more roar of applause for the firefighters that helped him get off the roof.

After he was rescued, Santa stuck around to say hello to the little girls and boys who watched his rescue take place. Families enjoyed hot chocolate, hot dogs and popcorn as Santa took pictures with the children.

The Santa rescue takes place every year in Fort Wayne. The event raises money for the Firefighter Museum’s Fire Prevention Program. Children and parents look forward to the event every year. Each year the team of reindeers finds some excuse to sneak off, leaving Santa stranded. How important are community events like this? Help spread some holiday cheer with the story of Santa’s rooftop rescue!
