Santa And Mrs. Claus Visit Newborns Who Have To Spend Christmas At The Hospital's NICU

One of the best things about being a parent of a little one is taking your children to meet Santa Claus during the holiday season. Getting your baby dressed up for the big event simply brings festive cheer to the air.

Sadly, parents with children in the NICU do not get to take advantage of this special moment. However, one special day at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children changed all of this when Santa and Mrs. Claus paid a visit to the smallest patients.

The jolly couple posed with 50 babies that are currently in NICU. One of those babies was a little girl named Ava Jean. The little one was born at just 25 weeks of gestation. She was born around Thanksgiving even though she was not due until Valentine's Day.

Ava arrived into this world weighing a little over one pound and measuring about one foot long.

Her mother, Bobbie Winnie, knows that her daughter has a long road ahead of her and that they are going to have to show patience to get her to where she needs to be.

The doting mother was ecstatic to learn that Ava would get to meet Santa.

Bobbie made Ava a Santa hat and diaper cover so that she could get into the spirit. Even Mrs. Claus could not help but be touched after meeting this sweet little girl.

Now you can learn more about this special story by watching this touching video about Ava and her friends at the NICU getting to pose for Santa pictures. After you have watched the video clip, be sure to spread the joy to everyone else in your social network.
