Sandra Bullock has been a working actress in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s and has also worked as a producer during her impressive and long-lasting career. She is an eclectic actress and doesn’t really fit into just one genre since her talents are so unique and diverse. From suspenseful thrillers to romantic comedies, Bullock has starred in a wide variety of films and television shows. Some of her most notable films include “Miss Congeniality,” “The Lake House,” “The Proposal” and “Bird Box.”

From a young age, Bullock showed a lot of promise as a smart and successful woman in the entertainment industry, as she pursued her passions both academically and during her personal time. Her impact on the industry has captured the attention of many fans and critics, and the star has earned herself quite the collection of awards and accolades, along with a respectable reputation.

Nowadays, Bullock is 58 years old and is continuing to prove her artistry as an actress. She ended the year 2021 with another notable film called “The Unforgivable.” The movie was released on Netflix and has shown to be just as promising as her previous work on the streaming platform, such as “Bird Box.”

While Bullock is continuing to find work as an actress, she recently opened up about how grateful she is to still be working as a woman her age. Although Bullock has been in the acting industry for several decades, she recently expressed her gratitude for the work she’s been able to get through the streaming service Netflix. According to The Hollywood Reporter, her Netflix original movie “Bird Box” held the No. 1 spot for the most-watched film in the platform’s history from its release in 2018 until close to the end of 2021.

It was dethroned by yet another original release called “Red Notice,” starring Dwayne JohnsonGal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. Bullock starred in the latter in the 2009 romantic comedy film “The Proposal.”

However, “The Unforgivable” is already proving to be doing well with viewers and fans and even claimed a spot in the top 10 most-watched titles in the platform’s history, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 2021 movie features Bullock alongside Rob MorganViola DavisAisling FranciosiRichard Thomas, and other great actors.

According to Yahoo News, “The Unforgivable” is a drama film about an ex-con played by Bullock who tries to re-enter society to a world that doesn’t forgive her for her past crimes. It was first released as a limited release in theaters in late November 2021 before making its way to its home on Netflix on Dec. 10, 2021.

Still, Bullock has remained grateful and humble for her employment as an actress and especially respects the fact that she’s still being given such great opportunities as she ages. Before her work with the platform, Bullock’s last feature film was in 2018 with the release of the all-female led heist movie “Ocean’s Eight.”

Speaking about Netflix, she said:

“They’re good to artists. They’re good to filmmakers. If it wasn’t for Netflix, a lot of people wouldn’t be working. Their stories wouldn’t be told. Who would think that me, as a woman, would still be working at this point? I would have been out in the cow pasture. It’s true.”

Bullock also went on to talk about how great she finds the streaming service platform to be and how it allows people who may usually not get their voices heard in the entertainment industry to be given a chance to finally share their stories and talents with the world. According to Yahoo News, the Korean show “Squid Game” became Netflix’s most-watched show just one month after its release in September 2021.

Speaking about hits such as “Squid Game,” the actress said:

“That’s one of the bigger ones, but I’ve seen more work from other countries told by other nationalities, and we never would have had that 10 years ago, ever. It brings people together in a way that really, you know, we’re getting more and more divided and yet, we have the streamers that are able to blend our stories together and go, look, same story, just different.”

It seems like Bullock has truly enjoyed her time working as an actress for Netflix films, as well as throwing her hat in the producing ring, too. According to Yahoo News, the star is set to work on two more projects in the upcoming future with the platform, titled “The Lost City” and “Bullet Train.”
