Samuel Affleck Is the Spitting Image of Dad Ben in a Rare Red-Carpet Appearance With Mom Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are at a stage of parenting many parents recognize: guidance becomes quieter, and pride takes center stage. With Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel all grown up both actors have spoken openly about how raising their children has changed as they move deeper into their teenage and young adult years.

Garner addressed that shift earlier this year in an interview with Marie Claire UK, where she reflected on watching her children grow into themselves. She described them as “so cool,” and admitted that her role as a parent looks very different now than it once did. “It’s more about parenting with a button on my mouth,” she said. “You have to let them grow up and make their choices. You don’t get to control it.” Even so, her sense of admiration is clear. “I’m so proud of how they walk through the world, and proud of them for trying hard,” she added.

Affleck has shared similar feelings about letting his kids chart their own paths, particularly when it comes to fame. Speaking to E! News earlier this month, he acknowledged the complexities of raising children while living a public life. “You put something on your children when you have a public life, and that’s complicated,” he said. His priority, he explained, is giving them freedom. “We really want to give them room to figure out what they want to do.”

He emphasized that acting is not expected of them. “I wouldn’t push them into that,” Affleck said. “They’re brilliant and lovely and wonderful, and we love them, and we’re proud of them,” before joking that he hopes “they don’t waste their life acting.” Reflecting on his own upbringing, he added, “In some way, it was kind of a blessing to anonymity, to struggle, to where we started, which was just in the middle of nowhere.”

That quiet, supportive approach was reflected again this week when Affleck spoke candidly about fatherhood and pride at the premiere of “Kiss of the Spider-Woman,” a project he produced. In an October 2025 interview with Access Hollywood, the actor did not hold back when asked about his children. He said: 

“I could not be more proud of my children. I can’t even tell you.”

Affleck singled out his eldest daughter, Violet, who recently testified at the United Nations, and credited her mother for the young woman she is becoming. “[Violet] takes after her mom. She’s spectacular,” he said, referring to Garner. He went on to reflect on their co-parenting dynamic, “And I’m very lucky that I’ve got a great partner and that we got great kids. It’s the joy of my life and I’m just very, very lucky. And it makes me happy every day.”

Those sentiments seemed to carry into a rare public appearance involving one of their children. In February 2025, Garner attended the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate a major milestone for her company, Once Upon a Farm, as it officially went public. Walking beside her on the trading floor was her youngest child, Samuel.

Dressed in a navy suit and holding his mother’s hand, Samuel immediately caught attention for one simple reason. He is the spitting image of his father. The resemblance to Affleck was striking, from his features to his posture, making the moment feel intimate despite the high-profile setting.
