Samaritans Lift SUV Saving Age 6 Boy Trapped Underneath: 'It's A Miracle'

Most parents warn their children about the dangers of vehicles and traffic. We all try our best to keep our kids from getting hurt in every way possible. We tell them to never cross the street without an adult, to always look left and right, and to wait for crossing guards to take them across busy school zones. Unfortunately, accidents still can and do occur.

Despite all the warnings and explanations, even the smartest and most obedient of kids have temporary lapses of judgment- that is because they are children, after all. For one young child from Conway, Arkansas, this lapse caused him to experience a very painful lesson. Luckily, he lived to talk about the experience that has since gone viral.

Sarah and Jason Everett are parents to seven boys. It can be difficult keeping their eyes on all seven at once. Titus, their 6-year-old, was being a helpful younger brother as he took his baby brother out of the car for lunch after church. The family was headed into a local restaurant to eat.

Sarah told Fox News that she has repeatedly told her boys to stop and check both ways before crossing the street and to never run through a parking lot. However, Titus ran to meet up with his brothers that fateful day, getting hit by an oncoming vehicle in the process

Later, Sarah took to Facebook to talk about the incident. She explained that Titus had unbuckled her younger son Haddon from his car seat before jumping from the van and running into traffic. He was attempting to catch up with the other boys and his father before being hit with a moving mid-size SUV. Not only did the vehicle hit him, but it also ran him over. Sarah stated that she remembers screaming for Jason, who had his back turned during the incident, after witnessing her son being hit.

The lady stopped her vehicle and ran to help the family. Sarah said that she could see Titus rolled in a ball on the ground and pinned under the vehicle. Sarah crouched down and held his hand as she reminded him that God was with them. She said that he was pinned with his back towards the undercarriage of the vehicle while the heat was burning his skin.

Jason told the news that his son had no broken bones from the accident. He stated that if the driver had gone another inch or two the vehicle would have torn his body completely in half.

Luckily, everyone around responded quickly. Huddy, the 8-year-old of the family, jumped into the SUV to turn the engine off. A couple of the other boys ran for help while Joshua took a big brother role in comforting the younger children.

A lady picked up the baby while Jason tried to jack the vehicle up. Jimmy, the manager of The Logan’s Roadhouse, came running out to help. Four employees were by his side: Christie, Zach, Jake, and Leslie. Together, they helped Jason lift up the vehicle while others came over to pull Titus out. Soon, the Conway fire department showed up to administer first aid

Titus was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but luckily he had no broken bones and was able to go home that very night. He did have trouble walking and suffered from some very bad scrapes and bruises, but the family believes it was nothing short of a miracle that he was otherwise okay.

The grateful mother also mentioned that Titus had put on a small baseball cap right before the accident which helped to shield his head from trauma and severe burns. He did suffer from a few bumps, scrapes, and burns, but she believes that it would have been worse without the hat in the way.

She also said that his back will likely be scarred for the rest of his life, but she and her family are just blessed that he is still alive. The Everett’s are giving God the credit for saving their son’s life from a tragic ending.

Titus plans on becoming a preacher when he gets older. He loves the church so much that many have called him the “Sermonator.” He even got a pulpit for his birthday! We bet that this little man grows up to be a wonderful member of society, no matter what career path he chooses to follow.
