Salma Hayek, 56, Details Lap Dance She Got From 42-Year-Old Channing Tatum That Nearly Hurt Her

Salma Hayek is one of the most successful and gorgeous actresses on the planet, but Hayek led a rather humble life in her native Mexico before she became famous. Having worked on her craft since the age of 18, Hayek’s passion for acting eventually propelled her into the stratosphere. Although she’s at the top, she still finds time to advocate for causes that she’s passionate about. She’s most known for her work in combatting domestic violence against women, as well as her advocacy for immigrants and charity work in helping disadvantaged children in Mexico. 

While Hayek’s known to be one of the most beautiful actresses working in Hollywood, she’s now in her 50s and looks rather different than in her younger years, but she’s still every bit as gorgeous. From her upbringing to finding stardom, the 56-year-old actress is still in incredible shape.

Known for her famous appearance in the 1996 movie “From Dusk Till Dawn,” many fans love Hayek for the scene in which she danced with an Albino Burmese Python Reticulus on her shoulders while wearing a brown bikini that left little to the imagination. 

Since then, Hayek’s roles in films have exuded beauty and confidence, which complements her alluring physique and sizzling charisma. That is why everyone was not actually surprised when Hayek was cast in the third and final installment of the “Magic Mike” franchise, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance.” Hayek will be acting alongside Channing Tatum, who has been the lead star of the film franchise since 2012.

Detailing more of her experience working on the highly-anticipated end to the trilogy, Hayek painstakingly recalled what her day-to-day work on set was like, especially the lap dance she got from Tatum that almost got her killed.

She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her outstanding portrayal of Frida Kahlo in the biographical film “Frida” in 2002. She also got a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a British Academy Film Award for the role. 

In 2022, Hayek was announced to be joining Tatum in the third “Magic Mike” film in an undisclosed role. Eventually, the production started, and Gavin Spokes, Caitlin Gerard, Christopher Bencomo, Ayub Khan Din, and Juliette Motamed were announced to be supporting them in the upcoming film. 

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about the film, Hayek described the scene in the film’s official trailer where Tatum’s character, Mike Lane, intimately seduced Hayek through a lap dance. 

“It’s very physically challenging. My goodness. You just wait to see. It’s just complicated,” she confessed about the now-talked-about lap dance.

Hayek further elaborated on working with Tatum and revealed more details about the film in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on a January 2023 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Based on the trailer for “Magic Mike’s The Last Dance,” Hayek seemed to be playing a wealthy socialite who has met Tatum’s character as she attempts to flee her rather ordinary life. 

In an Entertainment Tonight interview, Hayek explained her character briefly while detailing her everyday work on set – which could be something many would be envious about. 

“I play a strong woman,” Hayek said. “You know what was my day going into the office? I would just sit around and watch, like, 12 men, semi-naked, dancing and doing pirouettes. And I got to boss them around.” 

The comedy-drama film involved a lot of steamy scenes, including the talked-about lap dance that Tatum gave Hayek in the trailer. In a conversation with Kimmel on his show, it turns out that a stunt on the five-minute dance number almost got her “nearly killed.”

“You know, there’s one part where I’m upside down, and my legs had to be somewhere. But upside down, one loses sense of direction, and I didn’t do what I was supposed to do, so in the rehearsal, I went like, head down, almost hit my head,” she revealed. 

Good thing Tatum held on to the actress’ pants to support her, but Hayek was unsure at the time if she was wearing underwear – which prompted her to hold on to her pants instead of protecting her head. 

Hayek had a good laugh with Kimmel while recalling the story and was evidently thrilled to finish shooting the whole movie. Just by watching the trailer, it seemed like Hayek was a good fit for the film. 

Tatum told People Magazine that Hayek’s addition was a great plus for the film since he wanted to have a “more centralized female character” for his character to play off to.
