Sometimes, an amazing cover can be even more shocking and entertaining than the original song, especially when it comes from an unexpected source! An audience gathered outside of the Buckingham Palace to watch a mesmerizing performance from the Queen’s Guard that took place on January 7th.

The song they decided to play? “Bohemian Rhapsody,” originally performed by the legendary group Queen.

The guards played the song in honor of Rami Malek’s new film, named after the same song, that won two separate awards at the recent and popular Golden Globes! The film is about how the group got their start but focuses mainly on the lead singer that is played by Malek, a legendary man named Freddie Mercury.

The film is loved and appreciated by viewers of all different ages and genders, so it’s no surprise that it won so many awards!

Rami Malek won his own award for portraying Freddie in the film when he took home the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a drama film. When he went up for his acceptance speech, he made a note to tribute the singer Mercury, who has now passed away, as well as the guitarist and the drummer of the band Queen.

Thankfully, video of the moment that the Queen’s Guards performed the track has been uploaded to the internet for all to enjoy!

Thousands of people saw the video as soon as it was posted, and everyone is shocked by how amazing it sounds! The crowd was thoroughly entertained by the performance, and the guards are being celebrated all around the globe for putting on such a great show! Although the guards have performed other tributes before, such as an Aretha Franklin hit when she passed away and an ABBA song when the movie about their group came out, it isn’t often that they branch out into mainstream music when performing.

We're not sure how the queen reacted, but we imagine it was something like this!

That’s what makes this moment so special! You have to see the excitement for yourself in the video below. What do you think about this amazing performance? Do you wish you were there to witness it firsthand?
