Royal Fans Are Infuriated After Queen Camilla Was Seen Hanging Out With Prince William’s Rumored Mistress

The entire world watched on Apr. 29, 2011, as Prince William and Catherine Middleton wed in a beautiful ceremony at Westminster Abbey, London. The heavily publicized wedding prompted various celebrations, including street parties across England, William and Kate merchandise, and plenty of speculation about how the royal couple would navigate their roles.

As the years went by, the royal couple welcomed their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, who would soon be the future of the British Royal Family. Since being married in 2011, the two have faced insurmountable challenges in their family, including the death of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles’ ascension to the throne, Harry and Meghan’s step down as working senior royals, and most recently, Kate’s cancer diagnosis. 

The year 2024 has been challenging for Kate and William. The former underwent abdominal surgery and was practically gone from the public eye for months. With Kate absent from public events and gatherings, people have speculated that something was going on behind the scenes. 

People on the internet then sleuthed and pieced together unverified information and speculations, alleging that William has an affair with Lady Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. 

While royal experts refuted and dismissed the allegations, many people believed otherwise. However, the rumors were put into dust when Kate showed herself and revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer and was taking the time to process it privately. Focus on the alleged affair has shifted to people worrying about Kate’s welfare. However, the chatter around it reignited when Queen Camilla was spotted at the Badminton with Hanbury. Kensington Palace did not elaborate on what specific health issue Kate was suffering from when she underwent abdominal surgery in January 2024 but stressed it was not cancer-related. 

The public was quick to offer their well-wishes for a speedy recovery as the media jumped into high gear, with reports the princess had slipped into a coma being resoundingly refuted as “total nonsense.” Scores of photographers were assigned to the London Clinic in an attempt to garner photos of the princess upon her departure. 

Twelve days later, on Jan. 29, 2024, the palace released another statement revealing that Kate had returned to her residence in Windsor Castle to continue recuperating from the surgery and that she was “making good progress.”

However, the public has become restless in figuring out why Kate has been absent since her surgery. Many have pieced together theories, even alleging that William had cheated on Kate, thus explaining why she couldn’t be spotted. 

Social media became a hotbed of conspiracy theories about a rumored affair between William and Hanbury. Television host Stephen Colbert poked fun at the issue on his show, chatting with the public about the alleged dalliance, which dates back to 2019. 

“According to tabloids back then, when Kate supposedly confronted him about it, he laughed it off, saying there was nothing to it. Always a good response when your wife accuses you of cheating,” Colbert said. “Ha ha, imagine me having an affair! It is to laugh.”

Royal expert Nick Bullen refuted the allegations to Us Weekly. 

“I know people who know the Marchioness of Cholmondeley very, very well, and she absolutely was not having an affair with the Prince of Wales,” he clarified. “Even when those rumors broke a few years ago, she was very upset by them then. She’s still very upset by them now.”

While the rumors were shut down after Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis to the public, it has been fueled again when Hanbury appeared at the Badminton with Queen Camilla. 

Camilla chatted with Hanbury and makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury at a function. Rose wore a blue blazer, while Tilbury rocked a floral dress in their brief meeting with Camilla.

As expected, social media bared their opinions and questions about Hanbury and Camilla’s interaction. 

“Why is Rose Hanbury hanging out with Camilla??? #WhereIsKateMiddleton,” a user inquired on X, formerly Twitter. 

“Williams mistress just casually hanging out with Camilla , ai generated videos of Kate Middleton who hasn’t been credibly seen since dec 28 2023 yeah there is something dark happening right in front of us. This is insane,” another theorized. 

“The head side chic Camilla was out and about soft launching the other side chic Rose Hanbury at a game while Kate is missing. #WhereIsKateMiddleton,” a fan noted.

“Without saying watch the signs within the present royal family, it was covered up about Diana, now watch the fatal steps the monarchy are about to make to expose their diligence bringing Rose into the fold. I believe Camilla made a very serious mistake while Kate is missing,”  one said. 

Despite the rumors, fans loyal to Kate have continuously expressed worry about her, including one of Wales’ famed clothes designers, Amaia Arrieta. 

“Dressing the royals gives me so much pride, I really do care about how they look,” Arrieta told The Telegraph. “I’m heartbroken at the moment, I think they are going through hell, I hope they will be back. It’s really personal.”
