Many people have different ways of eulogizing the memories of the loved ones they have lost. Two years after country music star Joey Feek of Joey + Rory passed away, her husband and former bandmate Rory decided to reflect on the past in a blog post, opening up to his fans. Throughout the blog post, he continually refers back to his daughter, Indy, who is now 6 years old. In another extremely emotional moment, Rory danced with his daughter at a wedding in 2018 to the same song that he and Joey used to dance to.

In the emotional post, Rory reflects on the odd fact that his late wife has been gone for a duration of half as long as their daughter Indy's current age. He went ahead to point out how his then 4-year-old daughter was growing fast.

Part of the post read, "Indy turned four-years-old about three weeks ago and she's walking and talking so well and is so kind and so sweet...I think Joey would be so proud.  We celebrated her birthday while we were on vacation in the spot in Hawaii that Joey took us for my 50th birthday - just Indiana and me this time.  And it was beautiful, and she was just precious."

Indy becomes a little bride

Joey and Rory shared photos and videos of their daughter, which has been leaving their fans' hearts warm. The pictures of the ever-smiling Joey have been the source of comfort for the fans who have been missing Rory, and they love learning of any developments the little girl makes.

When Rory published another blog post in May of 2018, the fans must have been happy to read more about Rory and Indy's life events.

In the post, Rory remembered an event where his niece Rachel was getting married and held her wedding reception at his property. The wedding reception brought back sweet memories to Rory about his other daughter Hopie, since, according to him, she loved flaunting an old wedding dress when she was still young. The memory brought him an idea of something with which he wanted to surprise Indy.

He wrote, "I can still remember seeing [Hopie] riding her bike all around the apartment complex we lived in day-after-day, wearing the wedding dress. It was quite a sight. So, I thought it would be special to find a little wedding dress for Indy to wear to surprise Rachel."

The Grand Night

According to the post, Indy was ecstatic during the reception when she put on the beautiful wedding dress. Due to her young age, she may not have known the event's significance, but in her words, she felt "bootiful."

Like he had hoped, the dress was loved by those present, and equally impressed Rachel. He melancholily wrote, "She (Indy) spent most of the evening twirling and dancing and shaking people's hands and hugging people she didn't know and a few she did."

However, the lovely night had to come to an end, since the reception went till late, and Indy had to get ready for bed. By the time everyone was leaving, it was already late.

The Last Dance

In a turn of events, Rory decided to surprise the people present, by having a beautiful father-daughter moment with his little Indy. He gently held her in his arms, and they both danced to I'm Over You by Keith Whitley.

The song's choice was not accidental, as it was a song he used to dance to with his late wife. Rory had something to say about the song with beautiful words, and why he chose to dance to it with his daughter. He wrote, "And although Dalton got the first dance with the bride. I got the last dance with her. Well, with my little-bitty bride, that is. It was to an old Keith Whitley song that her Mama Joey and I used to dance to."

Rory then shared the video of him and his daughter dancing, which has to be the most heart-warming video you have watched in a long time.
