Many people can only dream that they will one day be famous and successful. For some people, that journey can sometimes be a little easier than expected thanks in part to their family members. While everyone hopes to make a name for themselves, it doesn't hurt to use your popular surname to open a few doors here and there.
This wasn't the case for Bryce Dallas Howard though. Bryce is the daughter of famously successful director and actor Ron Howard, who is most known for his work on "The Andy Griffith Show," "Apollo 13" and "Arrested Development." Bryce followed in her father's footsteps and became a professional actress, starring in several films such as "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and "Jurassic World."
While Bryce has become increasingly popular as the years have gone on, she has also become well known due to her famous lookalike, Jessica Chastain. The two are so similar in appearance that many fans have even gotten the two mixed up from time to time. Still, Bryce is most famous for her own career, only second to her role as the daughter of Ron.
Despite having someone who could easily help her land roles and introduce her to other actors and directors, Bryce actually used to try to hide her last name. She has since come around, but still has shown some reservations surrounding other aspects of her name, and has even joked about how disgusting she thinks her middle name is. Read on to find out more about this talented actress and her now well-known name.

Continuing To Grow In The Spotlight
Bryce has been working hard at making a name for herself since she was extremely young and working as an aspiring actress, and it seems like all of her time studying the arts and appearing in theater productions has paid off. However, there has been some confusion between her and her redhead counterpart Chastain, who looks very similar to Bryce.
The two actresses starred in "The Help" together in 2011, and it seems like they've been getting mistaken for one another ever since. Even Ron once mistook Chastain for his own daughter for a brief moment, according to USA Today. Chastain explained, "I was, like, walking by, I was like, 'Oh, that's Ron Howard.' And then my friend was with me (and) said he turned to someone, he goes, 'I think I just saw Bryce.' We look so much alike."
In June 2015, Bryce spoke with ABC News about starring in "Jurassic World" and what it was like to work on such an iconic movie with a long-standing history. "It felt so realistic," she said. "It's a dinosaur theme park and there's 20,000 visitors every single day. It's kind of like nothing you would ever imagine, and yet, it's been open for a while. One of my first lines is 'Nobody's impressed by a dinosaur anymore.'"
She also talked about what it was like to grow up with such a legendary father and the famous surname she has. Despite having a recognizable name in the industry, Bryce strayed away from using it.

How She Really Feels About Her Name
Bryce explained, "When I started working, I just had my name be Bryce Dallas. I was a little insecure, hoping people don't think that I'm only doing this because of whatever. I was Bryce Dallas for a while…"
The actress shared a similar feeling with the Los Angeles Times in June 2020, and talked about the pressure of having such a famous actor and director as a father. "I was insecure about that when I was younger," she said. "When I went to NYU, I wouldn't tell anyone my last name and I was like, 'No, Dad, you can't come see my place because people might recognize you.' But I realized pretty quickly that my parents were exceptional people and stand-up parents."
Eventually, Bryce decided to finally go by her full name because she was proud of where she came from. However, that didn't mean her issues surrounding her name completely evaporated. According to ABC News, Ron named all of his children after the places they were conceived.
"The rule was it's wherever we were conceived, it's so disgusting," Bryce said, laughing. "For me, it was a city, for my sisters, it was a hotel (Carlyle). My brother, his middle name was Cross after a place we used to live… that was our road where our house was, my dad would make this joke, 'I didn't want to call him back of the Volvo!'… no, stop it!"
Despite some of the hiccups she's faced with her own name, it seems like Bryce has finally come to terms with it and is still doing very well in her career. According to IMDB, she's set to star in "Jurassic World: Dominion" in 2022.
