Roller Skater Glides On Court As Though It’s Ice — Gives Flawless Performance To Whitney Houston Hit

You might have seen several different types of skaters performing on ice in the Olympic Games. Their practice moves are incredibly precise and charismatic; it makes one wonder how they're able to accomplish such Feats of acrobatics skill. One thing you might be sure of is that these high-twirling moves are only possible to perform on an ice rink.

Considering that those glides and slides require a significant amount of support from the turf, ice could be the only medium that allows for such a skating feat. That’s where we would all be wrong once Luna Casaretto steps out onto a roller rink!

Luna is from Tenerife, Spain, and is known for being an artistic roller skater who performed a skating routine to Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love of All" when she was 14 years old. She took her performance to the basketball court, which likely gave her the ability to glide on the court as though it is ice. She looks profoundly like an accomplished ice skater who has merely taken on another floor to practice on. 

Roller skating rinks provide a lot of opportunities to improve skating skills, but it is quite uncommon that someone practices their moves on a basketball court. Her performance was lauded universally thanks to her incredible skating skills, and the video from 2014 continues to become a fan favorite even today. Raking in almost 3 million views, Luna has shown that her talent is unique and commendable. This video is sure to be loved by seasoned skaters and amateurs alike.  

Luna Casaretto is a professional skater and is accustomed to performing daring tricks similar to those seen in the Olympic Games. However, she is able to take the difficulty up a notch by performing them on a hardwood floor!

In fact, she is so talented high-performing hardwood floor jumps that she's frequently considered one of the best in her class in leaps regardless of the type of floor underneath.

In one video, Luna spins and leaps to a Whitney Houston classic with the same level of skill as though she was on an ice rink. Her level of flexibility is so high, and her choreography is so pristine that you wouldn't believe someone so young could perform it while wearing a pair of such heavy roller skates. The video opens up with Luna being cheered on by her fellow skaters and a crowd as she makes her way to the center of the roller rink.

She's wearing a sequined baby-blue top and darkly-tanned leggings. The roller skates on her feet match the leggings and almost allow for a seamless look from foot to the leg. She sits on the floor while waiting for the song to begin. Once it starts, so too does Luna’s motion.

Waving her hands gracefully in the air, Luna displays her supreme flexibility before doing a handstand to get up onto her skates. It isn’t long afterward that she begins to skate backward with eyes half-lidded; all concentration is on the girl. With an amazing display of coordination, Luna makes her first backward leap. The crowd cheers and she merely prepares for her next spin.

As she twirls, her straw-blond hair twirls along with her. As it has been placed into a tight ponytail, it acts as the perfect lure for the eyes of the crowd while Luna enacts her magic on the roller rink. After about six backward leaps, Luna makes her way once again to the center of the arena. She rotates in place, seemingly picking up speed as if by magic, and she slowly raises her left skate into the air!

Luna precedes to spin with her entire body turned horizontally! The only part touching the ground is the rear two wheels on the roller skate on her right foot. One, two, thee spins, and the crow begins to cheer. She’s able to complete a full eleven rotations as if the hands of a clock in overdrive before dismounting the pose with poise and grace. Luna builds up a bit more speed, making a close pass by the enthralled crowd whole the song reaches its climax.

She puts her right leg fully above her head, then switches to the left leg and uses the wheels to pull her foot up. She resembles a scorpion poised to strike, an amazing girl with an even more amazing balance. Luna completes the act with another horizontal spin that finishes with her kneeling one leg down while she continues to twirl. The crowd goes wild, and the announcer congratulates Luna for such an inspired show of skating talent. At 14 years old, Luna had already reached a high level of skill in skating that others may spend decades perfecting.
