Rod Stewart's 42-Year-Old Son Blows His Inheritance Money For A Clothing Line Rebrand

Sean Stewart, the eldest son of iconic rock and pop singer Rod Stewart, allegedly cashed out most of his inheritance in an attempt to rebrand and save Dirty Weekend, his California-based fashion line.

Sources told Page Six that Sean had done the relaunch at least three times and tapped the help of artist Hector De Marquez for this latest attempt. “Maybe third time’s the charm," he said. In an Instagram post, he even thanked De Marquez for his help, citing that someone finally grasped his vision to make Dirty Weekend successful. 

Dirty Weekend was initially launched in May 2022 as a "California-inspired streetwear rooted in music." He envisioned his fashion brand to be an "approachable and affordable wardrobe staple" for hip-hop and rock 'n' roll lovers, as well as the surfer culture in California. In launching his business, Sean received the full support of his 78-year-old legendary father, with whom he has a close relationship. 

Sean, born in 1980, is the third child of the "Maggie May" hitmaker. His mother is Alana Collins, who was married to Rod from 1979 to 1984. Sean is the sibling of Kimberly, his older sister from the same mother, but they have six other half-siblings from Rod's other relationships, including his current wife, Penny Lancaster.

The close bond between father and son was highlighted in an Instagram video that Rod uploaded on May 11, 2023. Amidst reports that Sean needed to boost his struggling fashion line and use most of his inheritance money, Rod couldn't resist poking fun at his eldest son as Sean took the opportunity to promote his business.

The renowned singer and his son arrived in Las Vegas together, stepping off a private jet for his latest show at The Colosseum in Caesar’s Palace. In the clip, visible to the famous singer’s 1.2 million followers, Rod disembarked the plane, expressing his excitement for being back in America. He also introduced his son, seizing the moment to promote Dirty Weekend, Sean's clothing line.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! On to round four at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace,” The singer wrote, adding, “Featuring my oldest son @seanstewart." 

Then Rod proudly called Sean over to the camera, asking him to introduce Dirty Weekend to the viewers. Sean briefly spoke about the brand, encouraging viewers to visit the website and make their weekend more relaxing with their products.

However, Rod playfully interrupted his son’s promotional moment, laughing and telling him to stop. It was such a lighthearted interaction between father and son.

While the businessman faced some setbacks with his clothing line, his playful banter with his father suggested that their relationship remains strong despite the business challenges. As the rebranded Dirty Weekend makes another attempt to find success, it remains to be seen if Sean's determination will pay off in the end.

Apart from his business endeavors, Sean has recently tied the knot with Jody Weintraub, his high school sweetheart. In February 2023, the clothing line entrepreneur married Weintraub in Las Vegas. 

The wedding ceremony was so casual that Sean wore jeans and a YSL sweater while his bride was in a black cashmere jumpsuit, according to People. Later, they celebrated their nuptials with Rod and Sean’s mother. The pair, however, is looking to have a more traditional destination wedding, to be witnessed by family and friends, by Summer 2023 in Spain.
